I only 'found' this guy a couple of weeks ago and I copied one of his monoprint videos to the letter. I LOVE it!!! I also very much appreciate the lack of voice or music in his videos, it helps me concentrate. I have loads of plastic bags and I'm currently cutting them up to use for my next attempt. I thank him for the time and effort he puts in to share his incredible skills with others who would otherwise have to pay a fortune to go for private art lessons.

Thanks, glad you appreciate the videos, its always good to pass on a few creative tips. The use of recycled plastic is important and the more I can encourage people to try this has got to be a good thing. Never throw away and always re-use the plastic ! Good luck with your work.

Thank you, Dan😊 Watching your demos I see accurate balance in picture, despite randomness of abstraction. Composition harmony? Good idea with eggshells🙂 I tried version with wavelike textures of paper coffeecup - acrylic on oil/dvp- have ocean bottom effect as result in final textures. I used that to draw wings. The same thing with just oil paint didn't work😑 But it is still wet, after 1 one week. I added sicative by the next try to quick drying process but paint became too poor and liquid, so picture ended deem blot. Next one gonna try with paper and eggs surely.

When you use oil paints, are they water-based oil paints as in Windsor Newton? When you use a Q tip cotton swab thing with the oils, does it have water on it? Or, linseed oil? Or dry?

While I appreciate minimal to no conversation during a tutorial I found this example could have used more verbal teaching direction. For instance I have no idea what product was used to coat the plastic bag initially- shoe polish? Was silk screen paper used? Hot pressed watercolor? Any kind of paper? The composition created was lovely however I could have used more info regarding the kinds of products used i.e.: paper used, paint/shoe polish best suited etc. Some instructors flash the product name on the screen with clear camera shot of brand and name of product. Or have a conversation with the viewers but don't talk so much. Again your piece was great and clearly you are quite talented. Thanks for making this video.
@DanTirels4 жыл бұрын
I know the lack of a voice does turn some off but I have had so many positive comments and reaction regarding the silence. I will try to be more informative in the videos and will consider filming a product intro at the beginning of each demo. I try to list all products used in the description. I want the videos to be a real representation of the way I work, almost forgetting that the camera is turned on. As always improvements can be made. Thanks for your feedback.
