What a treat to see your lovely harvest - I'm noticing that the blackberries here in Leicestershire seem to be quite early, and there's a bumper crop of horse chestnuts coming too! Your garden looks wonderful! x

How everything has exploded into such colour and ripeness! Your natural garden looks enchanting. I think you are so right about not overloading more than you can process. That said, this time of year seems to offer non stop opportunities for harvesting. I love to see you out with your basket!

Aw bless you pet, there's such a calm feeling when watching these videos. Your enthusiasm is infectious! Haven't those beds done well! Is it Rowan berry time already?! This year is whizzing by isn't it. I was staggered to see all the elderberries here almost ripe and ready to collect this morning, so early, it's normally August end. Plenty for all and the birds must be having a ball this season with all the harvests exploding everywhere. I've been making apple cider vinegar with the fallen fruit from the Bramely tree. Ty again for a beautiful tour about your land. Blessings for the harvest.

Thanks for watching Wendy. It is quite autumnal here and the blackberries are bursting all over!. Is it because we are facing into a hard winter or because we had such a great spring?

Dear Terri, thank you so much for sharing your harvest! That basquet looks wonderful! Funny that the birds have taken the majority of berries, but I can imagine that is part of the purpose, right? Big hug from Argentina!

The tree was laden with berries - you just turn your back and the birds have them. They took the cherries too but I didn't mind as there were only a few. I am glad to be doing something for the birds so it's ok really.

always good to see. What will you do with the Rowan berries?
@DanusIrishHerbGarden4 жыл бұрын
Well Elisabeth, every year I make a lot of jams, chutneys and relishes from the garden produce. This year I wanted to try and make some Rowan Jelly - a savoury jam for cold meats and cheese. I'm a vegetarian so they would have made gifts. I can always go out of the garden forage.
@wendymcfarlane90684 жыл бұрын
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Oh I love making Rowan Jelly. It's even nicer if you add the juice from Crab apples too, makes it a bit sweeter and cuts down on the sugar content.

The nettle seeds are dried and ground up for a condiment - mix with salt. They are of benefit to men over 50 to protect the prostate gland but will have all the vitamins and nutrients of nettles. Thanks for asking.
