Thanks Dan, this video was timely for me. I've had a crack at content marketing 3 times in the past and this helped bridge some gaps on tying bits together better. The thought of trying it again felt like it'd be a waste of time, but this approach feels good.

Thanks for the video! I'm hoping to share it with my supervisors to helps us all get a little more on track. For B2B in a pretty niche industry, how would you recommend focusing on an ICP or content in general when there are multiple categories or departments within a single business. We're focused on the fleet washing industry (large trucks, semi trucks, etc) as a manufacturer - we make the physical big truck wash equipment for automated washes but also the detergents that are used by the washes BUT those detergents also used by the small time business of mobile washers. Our mobile guys are small businesses, blue collar, single owner type with a few employees spending maybe a few thousand a year where our truck wash equipment guys are BIG businesses, usually high level in a decent sized organization with literally hundreds of thousands of dollars to be spent their initial purchase with say, $20k every year thereafter. There's a huge discrepancy on how to target because they're soooo different. Thoughts? Ideas?

Pick your most profitable customer ICP... the one who is quickest to buy and pays the most. Start there with your content strategy, nail it, then you can broaden if you'd like. That's how HubSpot did it, and over time they widened the content focus based on the product evolution and who the customer they were selling to. DM

Hi Dan hope all is going well for you. I’m seeking advice from you. I’m using your strategy around the pain points to write a blog post for scaling a business. My companys founder is suggesting me to avoid speaking at them (audience) but to connect and relate to them instead. What would be your tricks/ recommendations to do so? Should I avoid giving solutions in the post?
@danmartell5 жыл бұрын
You should write the post like you would an email... and yes, give them the solution. The whole point of great content is to a) give them results in advance, b) make something reference-able. So make it something you would want to read/reference. I often find myself googling my own videos :) DM

Hey Dan, Great video again! However i'm wondering if this could be the most efficient strategy for my business model. See I'm building a B2C product in the entertainment space for “selfie-obsessed generation” teenagers to interact with their peers. So far, we did lof of customer interviews out of the building to validate our product and to collect data from early adopters. We have a pre-launching strategy but i'm kinda curious about yours as well. Do you think your strategy could be suited for our product?

Yacine Maherzi this won’t work as well for B2C... for consumer you need to figure out a viral loop within the product experience (ex: KZbin embed script) to make it spread
