Excellent! Content like this is needed to counteract the mainstream trends which are a disaster for this planet and its children.

Can one genuinely assert to know nothing while insisting that they don't know? If King Kid provides the example and believes it to be true, does he not assert knowledge of not knowing? If we allow it to go deeper that he says it without standing behind it, then doesn't he still arrive at the same place of asserting unknowability? Putting it another way, is denying knowledge just as untenable as asserting knowledge? This would seem to fit- if he is right then he is wrong (which would mean he is right), and if he is wrong, then he is right (which would mean that he is wrong). So now we have a contradiction, but can we undo the contradiction by seeing it? Can we at least admit that the terms of this contradiction are misleading? If we do so, then we have to assert some knowledge. Rhetorically this and anything can always be denied and looked at doubtfully, but this sort of skepticism always leads to a contradiction. On these terms, the debate is non-functional (and I would certainly not put it past the author to delight in its non-functionality which then performs the function of showing how ineffectual it is). Can it be said that the Zhuangzi does not do this, does not aim for this, does not seek to be a self-contradictory loop? Does it offer any actual therapy?

@@JonWeinand I don’t think they were putting forward the narrative of skepticism. Rather that from a perspectivist view, if someone has the drive to say, sleep in a wet puddle and awake with back pain, how can you even argue against such a drive? Maybe if they want to talk to you about it that’s one thing, but if you’re going to go around telling people who sleep in wet puddles that they are wrong you might find your hair will soon fall out!

I liked this video. I especially liked how King Kid was drawn like an absolute boss. I crave more of these videos, whether or not there is any truth in them.

I am a big fan of Taoist philosophy; I see in it a real opportunity for a soothing balm for our confused and troubled times. I love what you're doing with this series, it's very informative and presented in an engaging and simple style, much like the originals.

King Kid is an amazing character! But is his behaviour, his unwillingness to debate with the questioner, correct or not? Well, how would I know that?! 😁 Thanks for this brilliant analysis! 😊 The whole video is a goddamn work of art! ❤

Taking King Kid to heart, I will read this tale from each of the four perspectives (and others) for the sheer pleasure of doing so, without assuming any of them to be correct ... an excellent video, by the way. Thank you!
