Soo Hot! I don't quite understand how you are changing the banks, do you prepare on Song mode if you play live and are 128 Patterns enough for a 45 minute long live set? This would really help to understand the procedure of making live sets with the Analog Rytm. Again, thank you Dapayk for great music! Love from Germany.
@DapaykSolo8 жыл бұрын
thanks, man! i actually never use song mode, feels like cheating ;) the number of patterns you need kinda depends on what music style you're playing . with the performance mode you can tweak a loop pretty much and probably, if you're playing dub etc, improvise on a loop for 10min without getting boring. so 128 patterns should be more than enough to play an hour or so. i try to organize it like this: 4 banks share one kit, the next 4 banks share a new one. in the 4 banks there is one pattern which is something like the intro/start of a track, the second pattern brings in the hook, the third a breakdown, the fourth an outro with elements of the next upcoming kit (kind of like mixing into a new track in a dj-set) and so on...

Unfortunaltely you can't tell by listening through you tube... I got serious problems getting proper deep bass out of the a4. the bass tom on the ar is way more powerful. Any useful hints on how to get the sub right? Looks like a really nice vacation... .
@DapaykSolo9 жыл бұрын
***** hey jens, do you mean the bass drum? with the right cutoff point and some resonance, you'll get some pretty decent kick out of the a4. but still the ar is made for that and it's easy to adjust... ;)
@jenskuhnemann12419 жыл бұрын
Dapayk Solo Thanks for your answer :) I was referring to the bass from the a4. I use an analog 4 and analog rytm as well and i struggle to get a decent sub bass out of the a4. compared to the a4 the bass one of the ar seems to be way more powerful. With an EQ after the a4 it is ok but still not as punchy on the bottom end as I hoped to be (had the ar before the a4 and had quite high expectations). Nice set by the way :)
@MadelnMachines9 жыл бұрын
***** I wonder if the Analog Keys really does have better sub as elektron claim.
@jenskuhnemann12419 жыл бұрын
+Pete Horam According to user reports there isn't much of an audible difference. After some goggleing it seems that on the a4 apparently the waveform changes when playing the lower octaves so you won't see/hear/get a classic sawtooth but a somewhat asymmetrical waveform which should be responsible for th a4 sounding kind of thin. According to the guy who did the analysis the waveform can be shaped to a bit more symmetrical form using the first filter with cutoff opened completely, resonance up to somewhat around 70 and a bit overdrive and filtering with filter 2. I can't remember the link but the guy shows some shots of an oscilloscope which showed a much more symmetrical wave. I have been at my parents for the weekend so I wasn't able to confirm but I will try tonight. Hopefully this gives the punch at the bottom I was hoping for otherwise I might get a miniatur I control with CV from the A4 and layer the a4 on top. Dapayk Solo Sorry for hijacking your thread.
@RyanGogginsTv9 жыл бұрын
If you want a good bass on the a4, my method is to use the 2 filter the first is highfreq cutoff, put it really low reso depend of you and your taste The second one is a lowfreq cutoff, on this one i put the freq a litlle bit up like a quarter max and the reso up to the middle or less The lowfreq cutoff make the bass sound good

very inspiring, do I understand correctly if I think it's 90% analog four? That even many drums come from the four? I have both.... and have the feeling I have to create beats with Rytm and pads, leads and bass with Four... when I see this it feels I have to look more outside 'the box'....
@DapaykSolo9 жыл бұрын
yes, some of the drums are coming from the a4. most of the hihats from the rytm. if i would do the same set all over again, it probably would be the other way around as i use the rytm way more now. ;)
