I love when Elliot calls E.T. “a man from outer space.” Not a creature from outer space. Not an alien from outer space. A _man from outer space._ Elliot recognizes the humanity of this alien and the suffering they share. _The Man From Outer Space_ could’ve been the name of the movie.

Spielberg and Williams are unquestionably the two greatest exponents of their individual professions and thanks be given that they joined forces to bless the world with their combined talents! This scene still gives me the same chills now as it did when I sat in the cinema as an 8yr old watching it all those years ago.

The music after ET says "I'll be right here" combined with the visuals still tears me up. It was one of the first movies I ever saw in the cinema (Europe re-release in 1986). Still very special.
