"Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you dont feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today's not so great don't worry! Tomorrow's a new chance. If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others feel better. Have a nice day!"

I met this girl in one of my engineering classes in college. I remember that I enrolled in this class because it was required. I really didn't want to have to take that class. It was at 8 AM and there were other classes I didn't get into. Anyway..the first day of class, I remember walking in and seeing her all alone in there. She had arrived really early. I immediately thought she must have been there by mistake. I decided to sit next to her and start a conversation. It turned out she was in the right place. She was an exchange student from Scandinavia studying environmental sustainability. She was just about as perfect as you can imagine. I didn't want to come off as creepy or anything so I just treated her like a classmate. We worked on a couple projects during that semester. She made this class enjoyable despite having to be there at 8 am. We sat next to each other all semester and became very comfortable with each other throughout. I was definitely attracted to her but never did anything about it. I knew she was only gonna be there for a semester so I assumed she wasn't looking for anything with me anyway. Well...towards the end of the semester she suggested we hung out after class. This hit me by surprise. I remember having this important test coming up, so I suggested doing something another day. We agreed to renting a little boat and having a "date". I was anticipating this day so bad but for some reason this never happened. She canceled last minute. I'm not gonna lie...this got me pretty upset. The last few weeks of the semester were very cold between us. She tried to talk to me but I remained distant. I have to admit I acted childish. On the last day of class I remember her trying to talk to me but I was not reciprocating. She stood up from her seat next to me and moved somewhere else in the middle of the lecture. It was there that I knew I had ruined something that could've been special. I never got to say goodbye to her. The semester ended and she went back home. The title of this song reminds me of that semester. I still ask myself if there's a chance I'll see her again. I know that it might be too late to pick up where we left off but I'd still like a chance to ask her to forgive me. If there's anything I can say is to not hold resentment for petty reasons. I don't know if she got upset because she liked me or just because I was being a shitty person. What I do know is that life is too short to be missing out on opportunities because of your ego. So, people, remember nothing happens by accident. Seize the moments because if you don't you may spend the rest of your life wondering what could've happened.

What I like about this song is the maturity of the lyrics. Especially the line "either you want me or you don't, you want me or we go back to being friends" because it means he loves this person and never wants to be apart, even though their love story don't work out. Makes you temper your passion and get a profound look at your feelings regarding the one you truly love.

ABOUT THE BAND Stepping off the stage after their very first club date, Josh, Sal, and Alex were tugged aside by producer Bosco Mann whose seasoned ears had been tickled by their set. Backs were patted, hands were shook, and three days later heads were bobbing in Mann’s Riverside studio, as the Souls laid their first notes to tape. Inspired by the souldies around which they were reared, Alex Garcia and Sal Samano found chemistry when they began cutting bedroom demos of rhythm tracks together in 2019. Multi-instrumentalists both, Alex migrated from the guitar to the drums where he discovered the sensitive touch and unique feel that would be the pillowy pulse of the band’s sound, while Sal learned to carve winding bass lines through the deep spidery grooves of their vamps. Though the jams they created together were scintillating, it wasn’t until they connected with vocalist Josh Lane that the real sound of Thee Sacred Souls came into focus. Josh had recently relocated to San D. from Sacramento where he had studied singing, honing his voice into a weightless vehicle that could carry the Smokey-esque lyrics and Marvin-ous melodies he had bubbling within him. The connection was electric, Josh’s mellifluous poetry floating weightlessly atop Alex and Sal’s rhythms, and Thee Sacred Souls were born. Their first two releases, “Can I Call You Rose?”, a sumptuous love song, and “Weak for Your Love”, a chilling hard-hitter are both available online via streaming or for purchase on vinyl. Stumbled upon this song after learning my childhood friend and next door neighbor was in a serious car accident and is severely injured. reminded me of how precious life is, seeing as i was in a minor accident the other day. this song made me comforted and thoughtful all at the same time. so calming yet also frantic. beautiful, beautiful song

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Life is indeed precious and one must not take it for granted. I hope you're doing well after your accident. That must have been scary.

It’s November 4th, 2024 and it’s 43°. My ex and I live together, we were together for almost seven years. He doesn’t know that the 1st of June will be the last time he’ll ever see me again. All these tears I’ve been crying was just me grieving all the good times we shared. I’ll always hold them in my heart, because I buried him there and I hope to only see him again in my dreams.

I thought this song was from the 70's. It's just so perfect. Especially with the type of lyrics we are now bombarded with today.

I just heard this absolute gem of a song on 7/13/24. I'm 40 years old and have been listening to old school soul & R&B since the 90s. Where have they been hiding this? I fell in love at 25 seconds, when that drum fill landed ❤

I met a boy, just a few days talking and walking and talking... And I swear I got this feeling that people call "find a soulmate", found that man made me feel like I was staying at a mirror and looking my reflection, but there was somebody else with my same eyes, and holding on my heart with kind. He had to came back to his town, and I'm here singing this song. ✨😔

I was raised in Otay in the 70s, and whenever this song comes on, it takes me right back. I can feel the hot dirt under my feet and smell the Mexican food and pot smoke. Like it was yesterday.

I found this song right before a self discovery road trip yesterday, needless to say it was on repeat the whole trip. Now I think of crossing bridges and new beginnings when hearing the fantastic vocals and bass line. It's the end credits theme of being weighted down by someone you once admired. New favorite song

Long Live Jose, I miss you everyday mayne, I remember showing you this song after my girl put me on before we both got booted from our pads. Staying up late, finding a good version of this beat to write to. Now im wondering if I’ll see you again. Me and my girl haven’t listened to this song in so long bc it makes us cry thinking of you. I miss you brother. Peace be upon you. I’ll see you again mayne.
