I've never listened to a good song by a female rapper and wondered if they wrote it but I completely understand why somebody would. They don't usually ask guys that because usually male rappers have to grind in the underground until they gain an audience through their music. Some get a short cut through connections but most have to go through the grind. Then you have female rappers. A few of them had to grind through the underground but a lot of them use the advantage of their sexuality to help build an audience, not good music. And that's just the few that had to hustle. The rest, labels realized the untapped market of female rap a few years ago (before that there was only 1 hot female rapper at a time) so they sign an attractive female with a specific personality type, give her some lyrics to read, then they put money into marketing her and make money off it. That's the majority of female rappers. Alot of them only been rapping less than a year before they got famous. That does not happen organically, that's large amounts of money putting the music in your face untill you start to like it. So that's why most people don't respect the female rap scene. Because 1) they don't believe that they are real rappers who really write their lyrics or that they got famous by grinding and producing great music to build an audience. 2) They Don't really respect how overly reliant they are on being sexual. Me personally, I think this is happening with both male and female rappers right now and I think rap music is garbage right now specifically because of it.
