Awesome drumming. I got my first Darbuka in the 70s, before any of you were alive, and I can't play as well as you all do. (I did have a 3 decades career on guitar and bass, but still...) Keep on drummin'! You guys rock!

they are students of great master misirli ahmet.he has a academy in istanbul.he teaches his own tecnic which made a big revolution in darbuka. its not easy to explain in a few centences but different than eghpt tecnice.left hand more partisipating with first and thirt fingers.right hand devide on two in many posicion. he devoloped darbuka in a many way. we use to play with dissipline of him.but its quite old video,every student has developed and learning still a lot. thanks for meaningfull questions.

This is my favorite video on KZbin. Of ANY kind. It makes me incredibly happy, and it's inspiring to see how happy you all are, playing together. I got my first Darbuka about two months ago. I'm struggling, but I keep coming back to this video to remember what's possible when you practice. BTW, what's the technique called when you're playing with one hand while drawing the heel of the other hand up the drum, from bottom to top, to change the pitch?
