Darche 270 awning and Annex review

My thoughts on this new setup and how it works for me.
A great combo and perfect for what I want and do.
This setup may not suit everyone but hopefully you get something from my vid.

You're welcome. I am happy with the product and it does do what I need it to do. I did a lot of reading and researching and the retailers all said it shed water and didn't pool..... Now that I know and hopefully everyone else who watches the vid, that water pools its not to hard to deal with... Cheers

Its a secret camp ground we are not permitted to share the details of. That's the condition for which we are permitted to use it. Sorry but its too good to share :-)

good solid review but your marks seem generous given the issues you observed. My takeaway is you found no issue with Darche quality, mostly design issues that you can live with or workaround. Have you sorted the issues in past 12 months?

Hi Brian, Quality is fine, the usability of the product in the rain is the issue. So much so that I'm selling the Annex. It is not wet weather suitable at all.

Hey mate great review. Would you be able to give me a measurement of how far the back awning sits off the back of your vehicle? They don’t list this dimension anywhere. Thanks

Hi, The distance per vehicle will vary depending on how far back the awning is situated on the rack. In my case it is approx 1700mm. I can fit my Darche Dirty D swag (sideways @1100mm) at the tail gate and still walk between it and the rear bumper. Next time its up I'll get a better measurement for you. I also have the side zip in wall which makes it larger again.

I have the wall kits and Im not sure why you would think that. The walls leak along the zippers and the pooling is even worse.

That annex looks like a total fail. Fine for family day at the beach, fail for real camping use.

when there is no rain, its ok, but as soon as it rains its a joke that you pay so much for such an inferior product
