जगजीत सिंह यांच्यासारखे कलाकार हे स्वर्गातच जात असणार. ते जिवंत असताना त्यांनी लोकांना इतके श्रवणसुख दिले आहे की ते एक फार मोठे पुण्ण्याचे काम आहे. आता मृत्यूनंतरही ते लोकांना गझलमधून आनंदाचे क्षण देतात. सगळ्या जगाला आनंद वाटणारा हा अवलिया कलाकार वैयक्तिक आयुष्यात मात्र खूप दुःख भोगून गेला याचे फार वाईट वाटते. त्यांचा तरुण मुलगा अवेळी मरण पावला. नियती किती निष्ठुर असते पहा. जगजीत सिंग यांच्या देहांतानंतर त्यांची मुलगीदेखिल तरुण वयातच देवाघरी गेली....! आपण चित्रा सिंग हिच्या दुःखाची केवळ कल्पनाच करू शकतो. दोन्ही मुले व पती सगळे सोडून गेले. या लोकांनी जगाला निव्वळ आनंदच वाटला आहे. तर मग, या कलाकारांच्या जीवनात एवढे दुःख का ? अशा वेळी मनात प्रश्र्न येतो, खरंच या जगात "देव" आहे का ?
