I see the anime, Clannad and I'm like “Oh this ones going to be sad" at the end of the AMV tears rolling down my face and I'm like remembering the whole anime.

I always assumed that people were over exaggerating when they said this amv made them cry. It's sad but enough to make you cry? Well I just finished both seasons and I was crying every episode from #15 or 16 on in the second season. This amv has gained a whole new meaning now that iv seen the anime and I can easily see crying to it. Despite how sad this amv is I think it's my favourite by far. The editing is amazing and the story it tells is emotional and captivating.

This was one of, if not THE first anime I had ever seen. My poor pre-teen heart had NOT been prepared for the massive feels-trip. I still love this anime now, and this amv always makes me tear up in remembrance.

Clannad and After story are the most amazing animes I have ever watched, they are not action packed like Bleach or Gundam but they have emotion, and real emotion. They made me laugh, cry, feel empty but also feel whole. In just two seasons they give the viewer so much and this amv shows that. Great Job

The thing about Clannad is that it is the most powerful human drama I've have seen, at least in anime. The characters are wonderfully three-dimensional, and great effort is made to get you to connect with them. While that makes it hurt all the more when you lose them, it makes you rejoice all the more when they get what the happiness they deserve.

Watch it, it's very well done. If something is sad, it doesn't mean it's wrong or bad. The fact that you feel sad for the characters even if you know how it ends proves how well done it is.

no-one is to young or old to cry and personally i almost cried when watching clannad, i thought about it and come to the conclusion is that it highlights the fact that a single moment a brief second can bring you tremendous happyness and satisfaction or rip your world apart and send you spiraling into a pit of despair and self loathing, it touches the watcher in this way and thats basicly why its so dang great.

very few things have made me cry in my life, this is one of them, not only the depression of the show itself, but the fact i put myself in the guys shoes and watched it from his perspective. For an anime to make me feel like the main character at times, to make me laugh and cry with him, this is by far my no 1 anime, PERIOD!

Holy crap! I've seen some other Clannad amv's, but none of them touched me like this. I'm not one to cry over movies or videos, but I choked up pretty hard watching this. I have a habit of practising my acting, by putting myself in scenarios and events experienced by characters both animated and acted. I imagine the emotions, thoughts and words, sticking as close to the thinking style of each character as I can. I can honestly say that I'm as devastated as Tomoya, and that just shows the quality at which the tale was drafted and the story was told.

Even though the anime is sad that's what makes it a masterpeice. Not many animes can get you to really connect to the characters and make you cry. But clannad gets you to connect and cry. That's why it's a masterpeice.

You're correct yes. She does "die" in Clannad. Tho since they released Clannad Afterstory, all of it got revealed as a dream, as you said. So a summary: That was her wish, he granted it, she faints (not dies), he has a, let's call it daydream, where she dies, he snaps out of it, finds his child and her both alive.
