At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Russia's Daria Dmitrieva claimed the silver medal in Rhythmic Gymnastics. For her Clubs performance, she had chosen a mashup of Gloria Estefan's "Tradicion" and Yello's "The Expert".

Dmitrieva did have wonderful pivots. If you like beautiful turns then I suggest you look up for Daria kondakova, Vera sessina, Ganna rizatdinova and Tatyana volozhanina (of course there are many many others but these 4 really have amazing pivots).

Lol are you joking ? “ I can’t believe she got second place “. She had to beat Evgeniya Kanaeva , the most awarded RG gymnast ever. Dmitrieva always got 2nd place, when she could beat Kondakova. Kanaeva was far better than her.

We are at the mercy of what networks televise at the Olympics, especially in Prime Time. I’m sure lesser known sports and events are shown during the day while we’re at work, but for the most part, in the US we just think the Summer Games consist of swimming, track, regular gymnastics, and basketball - the things we’re usually good at. Looking at this, my immediate thought: “This is a sport at the Olympics?! I never knew!”! Who knows what else we don’t know are actual sports?!”

Actually if you live in the US you could check some awesome rhythmic gymnasts from your country such as Evita Griskenas, qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

Surely you will get more RG coverage next year from Tokyo because as the comment above mentioned - USA has two gymnasts qualified which I'm not sure has ever happened before on Olympics for american rhythmics.

Why is she only juggling 2 pins? I'm pretty sure the folks at cirque du soleil can do like 10 pins while riding a unicycle... someone should put them up there!

jane jan Lol they really can’t. None of them, even the contortionists, are trained to the level or Russian top gymnasts. They might have more back flexibility, but even that only by little, and are in no way able to perform an Olympic routine.

@@dominicweber I've seen a seal at the zoo do more impressive tricks than this. Olympic gymnastics is Simone Biles. Not ribbon twirling, ball bouncing, and juggling. It's ridiculous that this is even considered a sport. It's just dance that relies on props. She can do the splits and juggle 2 pins and somehow this deserves a medal, lol
