Kasatkina must be wondering how the hell did she lost that match. Whenever she has it too easy at first - thrashing her opponent and leading by a set and a break - she starts playing conservatively waiting for her opponent errors. Usually works, but whenever the rival comes back playing fine, Dasha finds herself out of answers.

Hadad Maia never gives up or goes away. Great fighter. She has the physicality of a big hitter but really has the fight of a much smaller player. Tough loss for Kasatkina here.

She’s been working on that. Look at her matches before 2022 and you’ll see she used to play even more passively. South American tennis schools tend to focus too much on clay and defensive game style, which are not suitable for her height and weight. Whenever she plays aggressively, she thrives. That’s her recipe for success

@rafaelchavesfonseca693 She moves so well for someone of her size. I mean I always thought she was much shorter bc if her style of play but she's a tall strong player. She could really do some damage if she keeps progressing. If she had the aggressive style of a Leylah Fernandez with Maia's physical gifts? She he very very tough to beat.
