For latin Americans its a mistake to think of the binary "native or not native" because of a thing called "Blanqueamiento" which is a "racial whitening" of latin america, for centuries people were encouraged to inter marry to make the future generations more white. Unlike In the US, where interracial marriage was DIScouraged and ILLEGAL which I think created a more limited racial social construct in the US and in the mind of most Americans. The Cooling Waters are all ways SOO refreshing, and all ways have been! I’ve loved Darienne since season 6 & was so happy to see her beat out everyone for the top four! She’s THEE first & closest we ever got to a Big Girl in the top; s7 had Ginger, s8 had KimChi, s10 had Eureka, s13 had Kandy, s15 had MIB… I may be missing some for the “VS the World” Series … but Darienne (for me personally!) had the greatest impact, talent, beauty, humor… and oh my goddess, she gives such PUSS in the face! what naysha is not understanding is jaymes has CHARISMA. you don’t get brownie points for “not complaining” and doing the choreography to the best of your ability just as everyone else is doing??? jaymes had something within her performance that showcased her unique charisma and personality and the judges noticed and liked it, regardless of if she was not doing the choreography perfectly… i don’t understand why she keeps bringing this up lol

Well the thing is, judges judge the performance and not the journey to it. Like us the viewers, we see a tad of the process, but in the end, our opinions are often based on what we see/what the producers present to us. So as much as we can appreciate the work ethic and queens getting out of their comfort zone, we see what we see. In the girl group, I kept looking at Jaymes and enjoying it. Was Jaymes a great dancer, hell no! Was she a good performer? Yep. If you’re not great of a dancer or not that experience dancing, sometimes performers get stuck on focusing on the steps and being in sync, and you can see the wheels turning in their heads. And that is a common thing, not just in this specific challenge. But Jaymes just committed, and she kept performing to the judges/cameras, regardless of the missteps. But I get that Naysha being a dancer she might have looked at it differently and seeing it “live”.

People don’t understand the talent of Miss Lake. She’s a joke machine and no a lot of people (or drag queens) can do that. Yes, we all can be funny be she can bring joke after joke after joke, and that’s not easy. You have to be aware of the situation, process it and filter it through humor; it’s not an easy or quick process, but she can do all of that in the matter of seconds. Props to that bitch. A lot of Drag Race girls even asked her for material. Her drag may not be your cup of tea but no one can deny that talent. I hope we see more of her. ❤
