Just got this on Steam.Its a great compilation, but I am so glad that they included Darius Extra as it seems to be the only variant of the first game that let's you continue.The Old and New versions make you start right from the beginning every time your lives are all used up!

Wow that screen crunched Darius looks hilarious! I'd get this collection mainly for Gaiden. The song "FAKE" is fire!

I missed out on grabbing the physical for this collection and regret it as it’s quite a banger in terms of how much you get between the two. Not making that mistake with Revelations as getting G in HD is going to be a treat.

I found the scrunched up screen of Darius arcade a bit annoying as well but I felt like I just need a bigger TV. I feel privileged to have played the original cabinet and the truth is they did a great job recreating that experience, you just need a TV that's large enough to replicate the multiple screens. I know, hefty price to pay to play Darius, but that game is a masterpiece and I'm seriously considering the larger TV if I ever run into any money. I love this collection so very much and I've already played through every game multiple times. Great review as always, and your 9/10 score is spot on. Darius will always be in my top 5 shmups of all time.

I just got the digital version of this on the switch. And M2 did a fantastic port of each version. Got it on sale and couldn’t be more pleased. I can’t discount the first original darius as being sluggish because it’s exactly as the arcade. The only original darius on console I would recommend is the mega drive one from M2 outside the arcade version. And darius extra version also on the mega drive from Columbus Circle. But I highly recommend this switch collection if you can get it on sale.

As much as I love M2's work and supporting them, I already own Gaiden on Saturn and the other two aren't enough to justify the cost here.

Yeah, the publisher on the digital stores never seem to put them on sale either so us peasants could grab them. I’d more than likely bite even if it was a tenner off, Its like they just want the elite few to play these titles.

They are pricey but I got all the collections, and preordered the upcoming Revelation collection. Darius games are hard as hell but I love horizontal shmups.

I know it's boring but, like most people, I'm a sucker for Cave games. Mushihimesama Futari and Espgauda II are probably the two that stand out most for me. Of course, it all depends what you're in the mood for at a given moment.
