Being a parent is one of the hardest things there is in life but when your child says "I love you" or just smiles at you there's no doubt it's worth all those sleepless nights. Mine are grown now and they have kids of their own. They both are great parents. And now I get the joy of being a Grandfather, but I'm getting older and it won't be like this for long

This is about his daughter but it's how I see my 10 year old son, almost turning 11. I remember the sleepless nights of getting up when he cried and holding him until he fell back asleep. Taking him to his first day of school and how he cried. He used to be all about his "dad". Now, things are taking my place that are more important to him. Makes me sad.
@ellasimon1538 жыл бұрын
+Erik Vinson No nothing is more important then his dad, you raised him he loves you, age makes kids want different things, I guarantee you that if he had to choose anything he ever wanted over you he would choose you in a heartbeat because kids can never find something more important than their parents, and he loves you no matter what. Don't let his toys/ electronics make you think differently

I just saw darius rucker in concert yesterday 3-4-14 and he sang this song. I started crying cause this song always makes me think of my dad. my dad is my best friend and I know im growing up and pretty soon on my own. literally 2 more years and im out the house and I don't think im ready to leave and not see my dad everyday. when I say my father is my best friend I mean it he is the first to know about everything, he is the person I joke and mess around with, he knows when something is wrong before any of my friends and he is the first to listen to ant of my problems. he was the one who held me through heart breaks and the one to always cheer me up after. my daddy was my first love, he first man I have and will ever love. daddy I know I screw up.....a lot but I love you with all of my heart and soul, you have taught me so much throughout my life time and still many more lessons to come. iloveyou so much daddy no one..NO ONE can ever take your place.

My kids are grown and doing well. I raised them as a single Mom. Every choice I made I made in the best interests of my children, to become a parent means becoming completely selfless. I love the part about the little girl clinging to her Dad's leg. Back in the 70s when I started school Mom's took their babies to school, I was proud to be the only kid with their Daddy there, then the teacher had to literally peel me off of my father. That's the same day I met my first best friend who is still in my life

Thirteen years ago, this song got me through in the first month of giving birth to my first baby. It was an extremely difficult time in life, plus an emergency c-section and having dealt with major postpartum depression. And now, here I'm with that daughter, scrolling through these comments, and leaving this comment ( as she watches me type this on my phone :-D ). "It won't be like this for long..." was indeed true. I didn't know how I was going to make it. But God is good!

I'm a big country fan, and Darius Rucker is my favourite singer. I grew up listening to this and his other songs Alright and Wagon Wheel. I played this song for my grandma last year because she's getting into country music, and me and my mom love this song so I figured she would too. My dad is a huge rock fan, he played it every time we got in the car. When this song was over, my grandma said "you should play this song for your father. He'll really love it" and thinking about how she knows he's a big fan of rock but would still love this song makes me cry. Hopefully I'll get to play it for him soon.

This song hella had me thinking of my dad. I miss him terribly. I list him when I was little. And I can't help but think that this song is him telling me that this was what he was thinking when I was born

We just played this song for my wife while drinking coffee. Last night was our first night home with our newborn baby girl. A little dust in our eyes…

This song makes me so sad because this song played in the car once, and my dad said “oh hey I remember this song, I used to carry you around the house and sing this to you” really touched my heart

Babe here ive noted another thing has hit me lets treasure this for it may not also be for long..i pray that we remain longer just like our parents...so that we will see each other at old age and praise God when we look back of how stormy it sometimes seemed but God giving us victory over all...love to see you old babe..

My dad was never there for me my mom was there for me more then he was so when I listen to this song it reminds me of my mom and knowing I'm Graduating this year from high school and going to college next year knowing that I'm leaving the most important person in my life that song helps me to see how much my mom has done for me growing up and I wouldn't be the woman I am today if it wasn't for her ❤🥺💕

I wished I had a relationship with my dad 😭♥️ everyday it breaks my heart. I hope he knows that I love him more then anything. But sometimes things are better off not being said. I just take it day by day praying that he'll see the truth🙏♥️

My oldest daughter "became a woman" today the first day of middle school and this song always makes me emotional but today it's my crutch and I NEED it. I love them so much and it's so hard to face I don't want to lose my little girl but I want to see the amazing woman she's going to become.
