When I first visited Darjeeling in 1978 I took this train. At the time you were (on certain stretches) allowed to sit on the roof for a few rupees baksheesh. Nice ride with great views. Slower, safer, and less crowded than the bus. Much better than the overnight express train from Calcutta to Siliguri. And all the hassle to get the Darjeeling permit in Calcutta. - Get a temporary reservation for the train - Go to the Darjeeling Permit office on the other side of town - Back to the railway station to make the final reservation and collect the ticker - Back to the permit office to get the Darjeeling Permit stamped in your passport On arrival in Siliguri, nobody cared about the permit. I was never ever asked to show it...

Another thing to add you got beyond lucky managing to film this back in March! Just before lockdown don’t know what time or part you did but you got to lucky! If it was any later you would of had real trouble and problems and would of had issues. I think if due to the pandemic you had to postpone filming it would of been a project hard to pick up again or one that you never got back too. Thank you for all your amazing products as a company over the years. I have every single product ever out on dvd and blu-Ray and even every production that only ever came out on VHS I have the complete lot! I would rarely buy outside of Video125!

Even though it will be a long time till this happens but if there is another place in the world for a DEV then I would like to see one of the High Speed Lines of Spain, Germany China or even the original in Japan along with maybe a DEV in the USA maybe part of the Alaska Railroads. Just food for thought outside the UK

It is wired that when I saw the Gothard Tunnel Route I said in the KZbin Comment: I wonder if ICE in Germany could be next or maybe even a trip over the Japanize High Speed Line on board a Bullet Train. There could be a DEV of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. All I know is after this trip over the Alps the list seems endless for Video 125'. And now they have done one of the DHR (or part of it by looking at the map) and now I can say the skies the limited to where the next DEV around the world is. We will have to wait a while to find out of course. WELL DONE VIDEO 125 😃👍🎉🚂🇮🇳

Tindharia to Darjeeling in 2 hrs 44 mins seems quick! Does it actually show the whole journey, uninterrupted?

No, we cut out the section from Kurseong to Tung. Other than that we just cut out the long waits/watering etc.
