Okay I have like a million comments but I'll try to contain myself. Firstly, I think this was your best video ever ever ever. Well produced, great content, cozy academic vibes. All the yesses to you! Okay, secondly, THANK YOU FOR EXPLAINING BUNNY!!!! I consider myself a smart, educated woman but at the end I was like WTAF?! I liked the book quite a bit but didn't know what I read lool so I appreciate your theory/explanation. Thirdly, I love the love you have for books! I love love books so much, they were my protection throughout my whole life, my escape from traumatic circumstances but I find as a woman I'm more jaded about reading, somewhat negative, somewhat hard to impress and I miss the unbridled passion and joy you find in books. Thank you for that and I really hope I can find my joy - I'm still a voracious reader but it's lost its joy and shine for me.... I don't know how to get that back...

Loved this secret TBR! I’m one of those people who loved A Deadly Education, but I didn’t have any expectations going into it. I’d recommend The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, it’s slow, but it’s Dracula meets dark academia.

OMG...SOMEONE ELSE WHO FELL IN LOVE WITH BUNNY. That book is one of my all time favs despite everyone hating on it. And holy crap finally someone who has a like for ines! I was getting really sick of a lot of people saying they hated her because she acted arrogant or unattached which is not even the case. She obviously loved her friends , and why when a female character suddenly has confidence people describe them as cocky or arrogant -_- I absolutely loved this book because I get so sick of weak protagonists who lack confidence.

I have the same feelings of giving bad ratings. I also agree 100% with A Deadly Education. Not only to your points, but the info overload took away from trying to enjoy the plot. I wish I could have your optimism on Bunny. While I am glad I didn't DNF like I was going to, I am not intuitive and didn't pick up on ANY of what you did! CANNOT wait for If We Were Villans!! Trying to wrack my brain for recs for you, but I think you and aToW read The School for Good and Evil RIGHT before I joined for the Wonderland Readathon. Yesss I'm so glad you loved If We Were Villains! That was also one of my favorite books of the year/maybe even of all time. I absolutely loved the characters so much and loved how, in contrast to a lot of other dark academia, this was more a story of how good people can be pushed to do bad things. Bunny and Ninth House were also more favorites of the year for me!

I think you're the first person I've heard talk about Bunny's actual plot and meaning. I gave it 4 stars. *Spoliers just case* I understood that Sam was supposed to have a brilliant imagination and that's why her creations were so real, but you really put the whole purpose of the book together for me. You got more out of Catherine House than I did. I didn’t get a feeling of the characters at all. I was very meh about it. I didn’t hate it, but can’t tell you what I liked about it. I couldn’t put it down, but also didn’t enjoy the process of reading it - which it very odd. I’ll be keeping an eye on the author though, I’d love to read anything else she writes.

Books set in schools etc. are one of the very few things I have zero interest in reading! Not even something as hyped as the secret history (I think a hatred of harry potter growing up has ruined the genre for me) but was this a very relaxing way to spend a Sunday morning? I'm not disagreeing with your points on A Deadly Education, but I just want to say that the school isn't really intended to be like a regular school. The monsters would attack them anyway and they actually get sent to the school because it gives them a higher chance for survival, especially if they are rich. Think of it more like Camp Half Blood from Percy Jackson but less effective at protecting the kids. So there are no teachers, the school is kind of the teacher in that it assigns the work and punishes you if you don't do it but its not about getting good grades and being ruthless is kind of encouraged. I'm not defending the book overall, I completely agree with you on how El treats the hero character and I was a little disappointed with the writing in general since I loved Spinning Silver, but I've seen a lot of misconception on the "school" setting.
