Oh absolutely there will be! As a Winter, I know black already looks natural on us so looking alt/dark has its difficulties because black looks normal on us but dont worry I got a variety of things to discuss on that thats not just makeup & bat jewelry (even though I do like those lol)

Bright spring in denial here and I have to say, thank you so much for making this! I feel newly inspired to experiment. I always felt this jarring mismatch between the colors that look good on me and my personality/preferences, but the examples you gave aren't gaudy at all. I actually feel encouraged to embrace the brightness. ❤

Thank you so much! And feeling much better 🖤 and maybe as I continue this series it'll be more clear which one you resonate with the most because thats what I did - I watched a multitude of color season videos then tried all these colors/tones in person, also asking a second opinion!

Hello, thank you so much for making this video! I think I am a Warm Spring. I have a gothic style from my teens & 20s. Now in my 30s I fell into a style slump. I felt I had to begrudgingly give up looking gothic to look better or in my style season. I scoured the internet for any guidance or inspiration likely being a Warm Spring who did not want to fully give up their long time gothic aesthetic but found nothing and felt worse. Your ideas helped me so very much. 🖤🖤🖤

Thank you! As a light spring this is what I was looking for! I don't even necessarily want and suit a very dark, edgy or goth aesthetic, but a bit more indie, quirky alt instead of the ingenue style (which is very easy to find for light springs imo). The dark academia aesthetic might give me some ideas. And because you mentioned vintage styles, maybe sixties mod might be nice too??
@silkymochi Жыл бұрын
Oh absolutely mod! Vintage 50s & 60s look amazing in Springs, the colors of that time are warm & vibrant - in many ways we don't see true vintage styles often, we see it "dressed in a modern way" so going full force with mod is actually a great way to about a quirky alt look!

Thank you for this video!!! I’m a light spring and have had a dark aesthetic but worry if black makes my under eyes look bad, especially as I get older. 90s grunge and whimsigoth are aesthetics I get pretty excited about (dark academia not so much). This was definitely the inspo I needed. Hope you recover from your head injury quickly. Would love to get a style analysis when you have slots open. :)
@silkymochi Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Im glad whimsigoth and 90s grunge / runway resonated- understandable on Dark Academia but I liked to add variety where I can lol My head is all good now! No more headaches and Im just careful with that part of my head for now and I will announce on my community tab here, instagram stories and Tiktok when my slots are back open 🖤

Literally a week ago I was looking for a video that talked about the spring color season in a dark aesthetic kinda way Thanks sm for this video but I would like to address that not everyone who has “dark features” are going to automatically fit in a dark season category, actually it might a stereotype. People who have dark features can belong to any color season, from cool to warm, light to dark etc., sometimes even though they have those features, it does not necessarily mean that it is the only predominant trait of them. There are people of color who are springs, summers etc. Thanks for your content anyways, wish you a great day!
@silkymochi Жыл бұрын
Thank you! And I apologize if I came off that way but I understand not all dark seasons are for dark features, thats why I did included variety when I showing some of the aesthetics like the runway images I chose were of women I thought were of the Spring Color seasons - I didnt want to focus too much on celebrity examples either because we already lack diversity in Hollywood and also those with Dark Aesthetics I think it might have been misunderstood but I meant Darker seasons like Dark Autumns and Winters have a Dark Aesthetic I dont mean dark features I mean Alternative aesthetics, I try not to call these "goth aesthetics" since goth is music subculture so thats why I call them Dark Aesthetics Also this wasnt meant to be a video on how to find your color season, hopefully this all made sense!

Thank you so much for this video. I am a light spring and I tried loving my color palette, but even though I can see that these colors flatter my complexion, I feel like I am wearing a costume. I do like wearing my darkest neutrals, but I still feel the urge to just wear black, dark grey and burgundy (aka my worst colors). I do feel at home in pleather and silver and feel weird in typically feminine looks (even though I know how to style my body to make it look amazing, it just doesn't feel like myself). I love wearing men's clothes, oversized clothes, boyfriend cuts and just overall darkness. And the way you described the feel and look of a light spring wearing dark colors is exactly what I like. I think I overcomplicated "finding my style within my color season" way too much. Because my style just isn't in my color season. It's outside the box and just feels right to me. If I watch something like "queen of the damned", I feel at home (also listening to the soundtrack of it just feels like home). I am just not like that light airy type of ethereal person or bubble gum pastel princess. I do also love the aesthetics of Shadowhunters (especially Magnus Bane) and the way Adam Lambert dressed during his "If I had you" or "Better than I know myself" phases, you know? And yes my hair is blonde, but I wear it in a short pixie with an undercut and textured bangs, so also not a very typically feminine style.

This video made me think of Lauren Ambrose's character in the tv show "Servant", Dorothy. I love her styling and believe she was given a spring palette in the show, which not only suits her, but looks surprisingly good with the dark and mysterious mood of this goth dramedy series. I would love a summer version! My skin is definitely more olive-toned, muted, but more on the medium skin tone range than the usual description of summers. My natural hair color is pretty dark, it's close to black. Most POC get typed as either winters or autumns which is what confused me but I think I lean neutral-cool with olive undertones. I still haven't had my personal color analysis but I definitely do want to learn how to incorporate your dark Kitchener essence series with your color season series for dark essences :)

That’s a vid that truly fills a gap! 🖤 Loved all the inspiration. Also I would like to add that a bright spring can actually sport glossy blacks (latex, patent leather, shiny (faux) leather, shiny silk) because here the texture/finish upgrades black into bright spring’s luminous territory.

Oooo yes! The glossy and I think sheer/organza blacks still look amazing on Springs and even Summers!
