In this episode, we continue our trip north on our Baja Mexico road trip.
We leave San Ignacio and have a pretty uneventful trip for the most part. We make a couple of stops on Highway 5, in places we haven't before. Our first stop was Coco's Corner, which we had heard was a must stop on a road trip through Baja.
Let's just say we probably won't be stopping there again. Not much to see there to be honest.
The next stop we've been talking about making was Gonzaga Bay. It was lunch time so a great excuse to check out Alfonsinas Hotel and Restaurant.
The views of the bay were amazing and the food was very good. If you're going to go, make sure you know where the tide is because leaving during high tide can be challenging.
We arrive in San Felipe in the late afternoon and although rest was the plan, we wound up out for a night on the town.
We have never seen San Felipe this busy and it was a nice change. The streets were alive with music and dancing, giving San Felipe a festive vibe we've never seen before.
After a bite to eat and some people watching we decided to check out a local dive bar that was located down a dark alley. This is not something that is recommended in most parts of Mexico, but we did not feel unsafe during any of this adventure.
After finding Al's Cantina, we could never have imagined the experience we would have. It was a pretty fun place with music we never expected in a small cantina in Baja Mexico.
