Dark Cloud: The BROKEN DAGGER Glitch

For anyone that encounters an issue with negative stats. Please try the following: 1. Equip the dagger 2. Open the shop 3. Go to your WEAPON list and move the cursor down to the 9th slot. 4. Press left to go to the shop side and move the cursor down to the bottom right slot. 5. Now do the trick mentioned in the video pressing right and X. (For some regions it has to be the 9th slot on the weapons tab to get a broken dagger with positive stats.)

I did this specific method i realized that I made weapons worthless Gilda wise (quick sell lists it as being worth 1gilda). If you try to drag the weapon over to sell, the game thinks that you’re trying buy the weapon and charges you a crazy amount because of the broken daggers ie over 16k Gilda. This specific weapon dagger glitch is great if you want the best weapons with favorable stats but not for making Gilda lol

Hello Appreciate the glitch information. I have tried it and I do get the broken daggers but while they give max stats, they also give negative elemental stats and that caues the weapon to do 0 damage to monsters. How do I fix this or avoid this?

I haven't come across this issue, i know some monsters have elemental immunities, and buff stats that make them immune to certain dmg types. depending on the weapon you have upgraded, that could be affecting the dmg output to monsters. The only other thing i can think of is depending on the inventory slot you aim at can affect what you pull over from the shop. so, make sure you set up the glitch correctly using the correct slot and carry over. to fix it? If you can confirm the broken dagger is the correct add on, if you add it to the weapon it will eventually bring the weapon sub stats up enough to deal dmg. other then that, no way to "Fix it" other the backing up with saves and starting over.

@@Chaosunfolding So it turns out that the glitch works differently depending on what region you're playing. Your video works for most but there are some that will encounter the issue I had (Which I found a fix) When you do the trick normally you get a weapon with negative stats and does no damage. basically useless. I'm happy to leave a comment with the fix for others

dont work for me it glitches out the mp and elemental stats and the all the other slayer ones is messed up tried a lot of times and nothing same stats when i get the broken dagger gives max attck speed and durability but no mp also gives heal fragile quench...

Hmm that's interesting. Never seen it not give MP. Unless the MP is already maxed out on the weapon. It won't over stat the weapon it's attached to.

This happened to me as well, is this the actual cause then? My MP is actually 0 on the weapon but I assume the reasoning might be the same.

How do you get it to sell for a lot?

@@Shitpostlabs so what you need to do is make sure you dont have alot of money. it wont let you sell something for more then the cap with is a weird # : 65,535 . if you would make more then that, it wont sell for alot (the weapon with the glitch attachment) you have to spend a bunch of money to do so. you nd up doing a dance of selling a few things, buying a few things untill you hit the cap 65535

I had trouble with selling the weapons with the broken dagger attachment, because they won't let you buy something if it makes you more more money then you can hold. But aslong as you do the village first and have access to the Gaffers full inventory. Steps are as follows Make a save file 1. Equip dagger (even if its already equipped, equip again) 2. Scroll gaffer inventory down 3. Scroll over to attachment menu, then scroll to the bottom of attachment tab of your inventory. 4. Move your cursor over to the ice attachment. (Should be there asling as gaffer had help putting his sign up. Needs help doing it so do gaffer event last.) 5. Hit the right and X button at the same time and it should pull over a broken dagger attachment. Keep trying to pull it over until you get the timing right. Repeat steps as many times as you need.

@@Chaosunfolding Sadly doesnt work for me neither any more. I did this glitch alot back in PS2 days as also on PS4. I even have an old safe file with broken daggers. But if i try it now i only get "glitched rectangles" in my regular inventory. Tried it over a houndred times now. Exacly like you did, as also like a dozen other methods explained on YT. I guess its somehow fixed now :( Ok, NVM, the glitch differs from PAL to NTSC version. Got it working now on my PAL copy of the game :)

@@Eishern yes the glitched inventory can happen. It happened twice to me while practicing. So I had two slots gone forever because of it. Not sure what part of failure in the glitch makes that happen. Glad you got it working!!

This is the ONLY way to make money faster. Sadly this game is poorly design to make money because you get very less even with demon shaft
