Dark Fire POV | NoLimits 2 | Portable Intamin Launch Coaster | Double Trouble Contest

This was my entry into the Double Trouble - Transportable Coaster Contest. It gave the challenge of building 2 portable coasters, a family and a thrill coaster, on two separate plots of land (more details can be found here: nolimitscentra.... For the thill coaster (in the video), I really tried to make it have a good look to it, always having some crazy element staring at you from every angle you look. Also, the idea for it was to have it be intense and have a lot of taller and steeper elements. While this does hurt the element to element pacing a little, I tried to make each element really pop to make up for it. Also just a little note, the coaster is completely hand built.

@@littlebendixon93 Is it? In time or length? Possibly in time as it's a launch coaster but it seems to go on forever, and because of the speed you're hurtling through all of it I'd say some serious track length

Big fan of the concept. I’d love to see Intamin try something like this modern day. Eurostar failed but I feel like all of the new technology could make a far better coaster.

Lol Thanks. I wanted to try doing truss style supports (or whatever they're called) to make it somewhat portable looking, but time was not on my side so I just threw on some pipes, slapped a base frame on it, and called it good

The succes of a portable coaster is to make a support collum suport as much as it can do. use as little support as possible. Dreier Looping, Olympia Looping, Triller, Alpina Bahn all have a mountain like shape, so a lot of support colloms can have more functions. Try this in your next portable coaster

Yah I know, but I only had about a day to do all the supports and so I didn't have time to do lighter trestle style support system to actually make it transportable, so I just pretended it was a regular coaster and threw a base frame on it lol (btw this was for a contest)

Really dig this A LOT. That said, I feel like the inversions were getting repetitive. I know you used them to keep this compact, so it's definitely not taking anything away from that.

Thanks! And yah, I tried to think of stuff that weren't just rolls, but I could only fit in 2 stall type things. However, even though there are a lot of roll inversions, I tried to make them all feel different (the first one over the station is a -0.5gs throughout, one is a barrel roll, and the zero-g rolls are all in different contexts). But emphasis on tried, I guess you could say this really just a first draft as while planning it, I just did the first thing that worked.

Thanks! And it is a launch, just a little short. It's inspired by the one on the Intamin Vertical LSM concept (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKi0ZHmpoLaJfKc). I thought it'd be fun to see how I could incorporate something like it into a full scale coaster :)

Great fair coaster, but it’s a terrible idea for being transportable due to it getting rough, having to weld it every time it gets set up, and overall intamin launch coasters shouldn’t be portable… especially with an UPSIDE DOWN LSM
