For me, this is the perfect level of graphics for a game. I find some modern games have a bit too much going on, and I love the simplicity of older games. This is the perfect balance. Looks fantastic

Also, I like how blaster travel speeds are fast like in the OG game. The sequel -- Jedi Outcast -- made the blaster travel speed way too slow, and you just keep missing shots, and the gunplay just feels like a chore to play through, until you get the lightsaber. And because of that, we rarely ever see players complain about the gunplay in DF2, but we do see that a lot in outcast and academy. Faster blaster projectile speeds, like in Battlefront, is always a plus for gameplay.

I think it was less the projectile speeds, and more that the hitboxes were a lot more generous in DF2. In Outcast, hitboxes were realistic, and so being off by the slightest amount was a miss. Combined with slow projectile speed and it was impossible to hit anything unless it was standing still; made even more frustrating by the fact that the rapid fire on the blaster rifle consumed so much ammo that you couldn't afford to spray and pray, you just didn't get enough ammo back to sustain it.

@@SerialSnowmanKiller Having just played Jedi Outcast fully, I actually found it was more how quickly Stormtroopers moved and how they can turn on a dime that made it difficult to land hits. The realistic hitboxes certainly do make it difficult too, but if they’re still, it’s not that big a deal. In Dark Forces II, the enemies move a lot slower, so landing shots on moving enemies isn’t an issue. Meanwhile, in Jedi Outcast, I found the best way to take out enemies is to wait for them to stop moving first (including peeking around a corner) or shoot them when they’re running towards or away. When they’re strafing, it’s very difficult to land hits. Projectile speed didn’t seem to be the issue, since I actually tried a mod to drastically increase projectile speed and still had difficulty shooting moving targets. You really need hitscan to hit enemies moving that quickly. Ironically, Jedi Academy actually fixed that by having the Stormtroopers stay put more, though they do seem to have increased health to compensate. In Jedi Outcast, while I only land maybe 30% of my shots, it doesn’t take too many hits to kill a Stormtrooper. Still, the gunplay did feel more consistent, but since Jedi Academy gives you the lightsaber from the start, most people won’t notice the gunplay changes outside of that one level which forces you to use blasters, and I think even that is optional. Though the AI moving as much and being as dynamic as it is does make them more fun to fight with the lightsaber, since they try to surround you and run away from your attacks.

I own all the Star Wars games.. I can get this game to run on my PC but it is too old and crashes!! I did write to Disney and say these games need to be remade and the character of Kyle Katarn given back to us.. rather we get Kal Kestis and now some lame underworld KK self insert criminal!! Why they won't remake and re-release these games with modern graphics is beyond me hey!! This video alone proves that fans are doing it.. so why can't the content holders just listen to us fans and actually do it?? I would happily buy this upgrade of this classic game any day hey!!
