I don't understand why he want his wife dead, I know he is having an affair with at guy, but she is not a bad person. When I started to watch this movie I thought she was going to be a horrible person, but I like her, and she does care for her husband.

That is about greed, not hate for David and the boy he just wants all that too and doesn't care if she is nice. He wants the comfort that man can give him and her life is the price he is happy to pay. If I was David I would watch my back :)
