i literally read the umbrella academy last week. i've told people that if i didn't know that Gerard was in a band i would have bought it and loved it. so it doesn't matter to me that he was in a rock and roll band.

Yup. =] And it hasn't come out her either yet, don't worry. actually things usually come out in the UK first with these guys. the I Don't Love You video still technically hasn't been released in the states.

I DID get interested in UA because of Gerard, and because he IS the front-man in my favourite band. I'd been into comics for a while anyways. I LOVE UA. I just found it amazing- the unconventional storytelling, the characters, the plot, everything. But I DON'T like it JUST because he wrote it. I'd love it even if I had no idea who wrote it. I didn't even think about looks with the band when I first heard them anyway. I get where people are coming from with the annoying fangirls though :/

I think a lot of people picked up the comic because it was Gerard, but honestly became a fan of UA after that. I mean, girls who think of nothing besides OMG SO HAWT rarely have the patience or the constitution to sit through a book or a comic convention. I've avoided it until now because I didn't want to read it just because it was Gerard - but I've heard he says The Prisoner inspired a lot of it, and that's one of my favorite shows ever, so I'm really interested now. :D

I will admit I only found out about UA because of My Chemical Romance... But I don't like it just because he is 'hot' or because he is the lead singer of my favourite band, I like it because it is a kick ass comic. That is all.

Not entirely true, I initially heard about it because it was Gerard's comic, but it looks like something I'd be interested anyway, it's pretty dark and something I'd definately notice if I saw it at the store.

@XxKierstenLeannexX I totally know what you mean, but you forgot that they have some crazy fans (like me) that aren't into guys. I seriously want to ask Gerard "Why Bandit?"... Or talk about how he gets his ideas, then nod along and say "I'm the same, I write stories." Having said that... A lot of my stories are Frerards, so I can't mention that... And now I have an idea for an UA fanfic!

Guys, my chemical romance fans aren't that bad. You are picking out the crazy ones who probably only know "Welcome to the black parade." I love My Chemical Romance. I consider myself a Killjoy in the MCRmy. I LOVE umbrella academy. I love other comics, too. Not all MCR fan are crazy and want to marry Gerard Way. I don't want to marry him. I just want to meet him and have a conversation with him. That would be awesome.

Don't get me wrong, I love My Chemical Romance. But I don't get why the uploader put them down as a tag for this video. I think Gerard's comic career and MCR should be kept separate. We don't need any rabid fangirls finding this and liking it just because they think Gerard is hot. People should love The Umbrella Academy because of the originality of the story and the beautiful art, not just because it was written by the singer of a cool band. MCR or not, Gerard is a freakin genius for doing this

Heard about UA because of My Chem (I admit they are my favorite band). REGARDLESS, I've been a comic fan LONG before I even heard of MCR because of my awesome father, and I submit that UA is a wonderful comic series, although (no offense to Mr. Ba) I wasn't thrilled by the artwork.
