What I do on that guard cont turn is I usually stack all the triggers on dorint to make the centre column even stronger.

The moment you're putting them in the soul is while you're resolving Death Anchors reride skill. In vanguard you always must resolve a skill completely before you can activate the next one. Meaning the moment you can resolve Vroukalakas you're already sitting on the new vanguard.

Good question if you did that means you have a soul of atleast 19 cards sooooo. Smack them with a restandind vanguard that hits high with a crit and a PG guard restrict. And make some High columns with Wearbear that wil hit easily +40k and use doreen for even more pressure. DI doesn't really need their triggers to be powerfull. but getting them is always nice. but soulcharging triggers also means that you wil draw all your powerplay cards instead of soulcharging them.

The reason I don't run him is because he will only activate in the later stages of the game to retire someting but in the later stages you don't care for rear-guards you want to kill your opponent. DI can't really put out high columns without doreen and being a vanilla 9k doesnt help with pressue at all. Also what do you cut to make room for him people tend to cut wearbear for gwyn but wearbear is your only High attack grade 2, Sieger is your best grade 2 ride target also it hits on rear-guard as a 14k attack so better than gwyn finally you have Ruthven but that is your CC and it's never a good idea to remove a CC for a unit that uses CB. So I don't see any value of him over the other grade 2 cards. Like stated in the video you can run 3-3-3-3 but I rather have 4-4-4 of better cards. If I really need to retire something i have Goulish Despoiler.

This is pretty much exactly the build I've been having the most success with, shame DI is incredibly weak to the AL4 meta but they certainly are fun. Great video nonetheless!

What do you feel makes them so weak? I look at the clan and think that they might be one of the best from the standpoint of being able to just go off so early in the game and making your opponent deal with blocking more than they'd like due to late game consistent crit triggers. Add to that fact that once you have 13 cards in soul, if you have at least 2 Death Anchor, you can basically plus an additional 2 cards plus protect markers every turn due to death anchor's skill

@@Emmerron Bare in mind I said weak to the meta, this means shadows, ott, kagero and murakumo. Against shadows, they wipe your rearguards away constantly making death anchor's 3 rg requirement an issue, the same can be said about kagero but add in waterfall so those extra protects just rot in your hand. Ott will just outlast you, again to pull off the kill combo you need 4 rg (5 if you include doreen to make demon eater an actual threat) sure you get 4 drive checks and a protect but how do you plan on doing it again next turn if you've gotta guard against a deer turn? Murakumo is an issue since you really don't want to ride death anchor first, since he doesn't ramp your soul as much as demon eater and doesn't plus like ghoulish. Zanbaku stops you from riding death anchor whilst simultaneously rushing you down hard. Again DI is not bad, but there's a reason they've performed the worst out of all the AL4 in Japan and usage has been dropping ever since.

Maybe after the second DI set has dropped I'll consider it. A shame, love DI but their standard incarnation right now feels very ''meh''. I'll be on the lookout for Naru/Neo Btw, Vrykoulakas can only give VG +10k during your turn. Would be nice on guard but, no.

That's the awsome part about DI, A DI master seldom goes to deck out. When to and when not to soul charge can really show the diffrence in player skill
