I played my bagpipes on the New York side of the St. Lawrence river. When I finished I could hear a piper playing the same song on the Canadian side of the river! I played seconds to see if it was my echo and the Canadian played the main melody. How cool is that?!

The only instrument of war...but it can also make ya dance, put an extra step in the walk, make ya cry, and raise the soul! Over twenty years ago I played the pipes for former U.S. Secertary of the Treasury, David Kennedy's wife's funeral. He sat beside her grave, on a camp stool, bent dejected, a crushed soul. When the skirl was struck and the first tune played, I watched as he sat up straight, held his head high, then stoodup and turned around and stood as a granite monolith. Such is the pipe's magic! Love this tune!

Robert Avery, One of the best memes I have seen states "My neighbors listen to great music whether they want to or not. I play the bagpipes". Your comment reminded me of this. I am just learning the pipes myself. Quite often during the non winter months I can be found on my front deck practicing on the PC. Sometimes I'll go out with the pipes and practice but still only part of the scale. I just got a set of pipes from my instructor a few months ago and still learning to play the scale with no drones. LOL Anyway, get back at it my friend. Dark Isle Bagpiper, awesome tune and playing. Thank you.
