When I made thigh high boot covers I attached them to my tights as well, to do it I pinned the covers to the tights, removed it together and stretched it over some cardboard and glued it down. Surprisingly this actually worked! I definitely also stabbed my legs while pinning but using the cardboard base helped a lot after!

I didn't see anyone else comment, but the red sharpie & texture issues are from the plasti-dip layer being too thin. If you still have the costume the issue will only continue to get worse over time. I have a few props I made this mistake with D: You can also blast the EVA with the heat gun to shrink the holes in the foam before priming to help reducse/slow the issue if you've run out of plasti-dip

Also definitely gonna remind myself to redesign character outfits to not look awful on my body so I can have fun cosplaying characters I love without feeling uncomfy in my body.
