Wow, so none of the comments are actually about the review of Dark Matter? Wow! Thanks for the breakdown . You definitely gave some great insights and now I can go into it with a tempered expectation!

Since I have read the book I might just wait till the last 7 episodes are released and then binge it. I hate waiting week to week.

This loosely reminds me of Starz show counterpart. Counterpart had 2 fantastic seasons but when Starz restructured their programming and went with the power saga they cancelled Counterpart prematurely. They shipped it around and it never got picked up unfortunately.

I haven’t read the book (despite it being on my shelf for many months now), but after seeing the first two episodes I’ll definitely be looking forward to the weekly episode drops. As you described, it’s not perfect - such as one particularly frustrating element regarding a character’s lack of situational awareness which, thankfully, was resolved by the end of the second episode - but I’ve bought in based on the interesting premise and the execution so far. Apple kinda doesn’t miss with their original series (i.e., For All Mankind, Servant, Black Bird, Masters of the Air) so I’m expecting this show to be, at the very least, sufficiently entertaining / thought provoking to catch week to week. Great review as always, Austin!

@@mikekaraoke I haven’t read the books; I really enjoyed the first four episodes; however, after the fourth episode everything went downhill. Also, I didn’t care for any of the characters especially the female scientist who could see the countdown; she was annoying as hell.

I watched DARK Matter for the first two episodes. It was like watching the old Soap Operas. The same stilted conversations, rehearsed tired lines, same expressions... It suuucked ! If there ever was a series that the hooked noses of Hollywood want to emulate, it would be "FOUNDATIONS". Breathtaking in its stories, acting, videography, costumes.🎉🎉🎉. Reminds you of the old Roman Empire.

Started with no preconceived notion of what it would be. Tried to judge it on its own merits. The only thing that bothered me was that Jennifer Conley looked like she lost a lot of weight since I saw her in Maverick. She is a good actress and I worry that she is okay. Enjoyed your review. Thanks

Im looking foward to this one...But please dont make excuses for poor lighting in movies/tv series. The skill is in making the scene visible to the viewer whilst conveying a sense of darkness. If the viewer is straining to make out what's going on in the scene thats a fail, pure and simple. Sadly its become very common these days.

I hated the book vehemently. Usually i am fine with conveniences and plot holes, but the book had way too many for it not to be frustrating. Also characters make decisions that are stipid to the point of unbelivability. I HATE the book so, so much. It is a she because the mystery of the sci fi elementduring the novel's beginning and its possibilites to where it could go was gripping.
@jonathanclough9796 ай бұрын
This show sucks so badly it made me hate the book, which I'd read a few years ago and liked. It's too gloomy, lacking in any humour and most unforgivable it's boring. Acting is meh, main character just mopes around with a face like a slapped arse. Going to cancel apple subscription, there's no good shows.
