Just dropped a video on this yesterday if you get 38 resourcefulness and 62-70% buff duration you can recast Dark offering before cooldown disappears and it resets your Stacks with only 1 tick, you can maintain 10 stacks the entire game as long as you recast every 23ish seconds.

Rogue can do that to almost any class in the game rn lol. Doesn't change that Warlock is still busted. Warlock can just hydra every room if they want to, and phantomize if a rogue gets on them to reset. This is a goofy Niche build, that is only "OP" if you play into it, but doesn't change the fact that Warlock is a busted class in solos.

@@TheArcticBearboss Copium. Trust so long as hide is in the game sitting behind doorways and in corners will forever be meta. Also a rogue is warlocks direct counter since they're both practically the same speed while in phantomize. The only way a warlock can even get away is if he times the chase to end on an open door. Not to mention cutthroat. It's one of warlocks only true counters right now in high-end gameplay.

@@Brotection_ How is what I'm saying Copium lol? I think both classes are broken. If your warlock build isn't shit you will hit MS cap with book out and phantomize up, which is longer than the shadow runner move speed increase, which gives you the chance to reset if you see a rogue jump out of invis at you, before they get on you. Yes, rogue counters Warlock, and pretty much all casters in the game, especially if they take cutthroat. Still doesn't mean that Warlock doesn't have tools to deal with them, like proactively using Hydra in rooms, and taking flame walker so you're harder to run down as a melee class. Just because Rogue is broken doesn't mean warlock isn't.

It's not crazy when you consider the investment required to do it, this requires nearly every piece of gear to have buff duration on it for it to be viable. I think you need 70%+ duration increase before you can even do what he's doing. It could be busted at really high gear scores with the right combinations but at middle gear brackets you could do as much damage more cheaply with a kris or falchion and run a physical Warlock build. Just no one runs physical builds because range is op.

@@Squall598 Just buff duration is not enough, it will not work. You also need lots of resourcefulness for cooldown reduction, about 30-40, which also hits other stats.

Its so stupid because without invis rogue is actually one of the hardest classes. But with Ironmace making him rely on only his first strike/s out of invis its actually impossible for them to balance.

PSA this build only works if you have some resourcefulness as well as buff duration (yami has 77 buff duration and 21 resource) so that you have some cooldown reduction as well to reup the stacks

To play devils advocate here, the average Warlock needs more skill compared to the average Rogue. The average Rogue with a decent kit can ambush 3-4 stab someone to death. If they get the three headshots off and their opponent is still kicking, then it's just a throwing knife or two for the win. The average Warlock with a decent kit is still a very killable opponent for most classes, they are just very annoying to verse like Rangers. So yeah, in a way you could argue that Rogues were more in need of a nerf than Warlocks, in a way Bards are more in need of a nerf than Warlocks but I actually think they're in a good place and some other classes are in need of a bit of a boost to match Warlocks, Bards and Clerics, although Clerics do still need a slight nerf.

@@itzdrdabber2115 Sheesh, most Barbarians can kill demon locks in the shift w competition, you've been watching Euthafro too much my man. Spamming spells and then going demon lock is no different than just spamming spells for the kill. They can stand a DECENT chance against the average barbarian but one miss play and the barb wins, there is a reason he spammed spells before closing. A proper built PDR/MDR fighter is just terrifying AND I'd wager you haven't versed one. Also, it would take a shit cleric to 1v1 them while in demon form when the demon simply goes from a 2 tap to a 3 tap... A really shit cleric. Only time clerics will die is if you're faster than them, might as well complain that Move speed is broken. Warlocks are not as good as you're espousing, most classes have high MS when you build for it, have a decent HP pool and ironically most classes can self heal as well, just not as good as Warlocks. One miss step and you'd ordinarily die. The only real difference is phantomise, which should be nerfed for a lower duration or a higher CD. Take away phantomise or nerf it and no one here would be justified in complaining.

I used to like DaD, and then I realized at the highest level of skill expression it is ALL movement based and they cannot fix the ranged meta balance of this game. Watching someone throw 3 drums at someone as a defense mechanic because Y4mi will literally run up his butt if he even attempts to cast a spell.... Clipping 1 note out of Bards music to maximize time..... I just don't understand how it is enjoyable to play a game where the skill expression comes from finding the most nuclear build possible and not even doing your classes mechanics. Everyone is running around 2 - 3 tapping each other. Regardless of whether it is with a bow on a class that doesn't build its identity around it or when the patch is right Clerics running full tilt in to bonk unafraid of death. I've played Dungeon and Dragons for years (arguably what this game is designed off of), and there are always people that play this way too. Min/Maxing every microscope of it and finding every synergy possible. It pushes the DM (relating to the games creators here, as they are the accountability police) to either create mechanics that cater towards those people; the newer players that don't understand it just have to rely on them and feel penalized for it and inevitably either drives them away OR makes it to where they must become apart of the machine. I understand this is the purpose of Gear Score lobbies, so that you can play less "radioactive" games by keeping your items low. But the second you remotely put on any gear, you have to start number crunching and the cycle continues. Can we please get rid of ranged weapons for every class except Rangers (this includes throwables. Get creative like Dungeonborne and make things like slowing potions/rock wall potions, just STOP with this "it does damage on a modifier that people are going to STACK.") and at most let Fighters just use Crossbows so they at most get 1 good shot before engagement. Work on balancing Rangers instead of buffing everyone else. The concept of, "Make everyone overpowered," leads to such uninteresting gameplay mechanics rather than letting everyone be really good at what they do (Class Identity ((The point of Roleplaying Games)), and people having to play around their respective strengths and understanding their tactics. If I die to a Rogue it should be because they earnestly heard me before I heard them and I wasn't playing the entire game thinking, "How do I position myself to not get shanked," versus..... A rogue just running away, shooting an xbow 4 times and winning via Ranged Meta.

I see what you're saying but that cleric literally didn't have any spells, just Q and E abilities bc that's what the meta is right now for solo cleric. would love to see how the game would be with no ranged weapons tbh, that sounds like an interesting idea (obviously Wizard, Warlock and Ranger would still keep theirs) though I would say the concept of "make everyone overpowered" works well at least in some games, like Dota 2, but that's probably a bad example bc it's not even close to the same genre as DaD.

All was going good until i reed "like Dungeonborne", i mean, wtf? the combat in db is pure oneshot and broken skills, like what are u talking? i see this video and i see everyone playing around something, and it was almost all melee combat, excep the cleric fight, u dont like the kite meta? i like it, and a lot of people thinks is a good skill expresion, and if u were a truly darkanddarker player, just by the sound that cleric does u would know that he is not running spells, just divine protecion and smite.

Just the nature of pvp games. Their communities will always aspire to ideal balance even if it'll never be achieved. Can't really blame them. I don't think anyone's arguing cleric, warlock, bard, and to an extent rogue are the most "annoying" classes right now. There are definitely some outlier skills on those classes that need to be looked at, either way you slice it.

cleric is pretty easy to fight tbh and no one really runs the beer build. i have 2.5k hours and have never run into someone using it. warlock is in every lobby on every team is a S tier pick in solos/duos/trios, boring ass character to fight, that just has too much going for it imo.
