From 3:58 to 5:50 I picture muscular male gazing down at his clenched fists and arms that bulge with veins, standing as the mighty power rushes through his body, inhales the brisk cold air lifting his head to the gentle breeze before opening his eyes to see the clear skies above him as atepmts to clear his mind, but the pain was to great... The man goes into a crouch, with one knuckle facing the ground rests his fist upon the face of the ground as his power grows much stronger. his pain soon turns to rage, moaning faintly in over-whiling grief from loss of those he loved and regret, his groans quickly turn into a battle cry yells greatly causing the stones to vibrate and the ground to rumble under him.

That was the only problem? Killing off Mystique because Jennifer Lawrence hates the long Make-Up sessions. I mean, why did she sign the contract then? And then they showed her death in the trailer and it was the only f*cking death. And that is just the start of this movie's problems.

I have a feeling there was a lot of content left on the cutting room floor. This particular movie is character driven, not your usual action driven super hero flick, seems like there was still a lot of character development that was cut out. This easily should have been a 2-3 hr movie.

For anyone wondering why the film felt rushed: the studio actually forced Simon Kinberg to condense what he wanted to be two films into one, and so he couldn't tell the story as well as he wanted. I still happened to love it. The cast (especially Turner, McAvoy, Chastain, Hoult, Fassbender, and Sheridan), the visuals, and especially the score were great, and I wish I had seen it in theaters and that it had succeeded. Great job on medley.

@@TheShinyOrange I agree that the soundtrack was good but the movie itself was just bad. It was weird that only Mystique died and that the trailer had already shown that scene. But even worse were the dynamics between the characters, the conflicts felt forced (between Mystique and Charles especially), Jessica Chastain and the shapeshifters were bad villains and the ending felt really unsatisfying to me.

Stefan Joeres i agree the villains were bad , the conflict felt forced between mystique and prof X . However the movie had great action scenes ( the scene with magneto firing with all the guns ) . It had great performances by all the actors , the CGI were quite incredible , the score was absolutely amazing . The dark tone coupled with a quite thrilling story made it very satisfying . The ending was great with the chess scene. Overall good movie and unfairly criticized ( ten times better than captain marvel and I love the MCU )

Jean Grey aka Phoenix is not purely evil but just a flawed and misunderstood person. She is a humanly representation of the inner conflicts and vulnerability of a person's mind and heart. However, it is important to remember that no matter how we are treated by others, it is better for us to forgive those who have disowned and mistreated us just as how Jean forgives Charles for deceiving her by hiding her traumatic childhood. It is proven that only forgiveness and hope can repair one's heart and composure rather than vengeance and anger. We all can make mistakes but for as long as one is conscious about the transgressions made and repent then there is hope for the world.
@kailenne7149
@kailenne7149 4 жыл бұрын
It was wrongly portrayed cause jean and phoenix are different entities. Jean being a powerful beautiful human with the mutant gene and phoenix being a powerful force, not human. Phoenix is insatiable and a destructive entity. It possessed many people over the time. So yeah we cant address them as being the same. They will never be the same...
@olgareiss5060

Jeremy, (my apologies, I'm not exactly sure what your name is, just making an educated guess) I'm in full agreement with you about forgiveness vs. vengeance. Vengeance will never cure anything, it just is an easier path for most of us than to forgive....but if we all give into our anger during tribulations, will we live fulfilling lives? Also, let us hope against hope. Thank you for sharing your insightful post with us. I have actually never watched _Jean Grey_ aka _Phoenix_, but from what you shared, it looks like an interesting movie... I love powerful soundtracks, but rarely do I ever watch any of the movies. lol

Just saw the film, even though im not fully versed in the Phoenix storyline the film takes a far darker and realism based approach which is something i thought was good for the franchise. i don't entirely agree with how critics treated it . I realize the film has continuity issues but when it comes down to it this is our final xmen film from fox so im more than willing to let this pass. The score by hans electrifies the film's tension and build up to the climax. Simon Kinberg deserves more credit then critics would give him, the film has issues but the overarching narrative and build up diminishes these issues. i quite enjoyed the films change of gears from other x men films of the past

Our human emotions and desires can sometimes overwhelm us instinctively whenever we felt betrayed by our loved ones, but solving violence with violence is a forlorn attempt. Thus, we need to come to terms with the past and our inner demons by making peace with them. Jean Grey realises that the only enemy she needs to fear is herself and by doing so, manages to regain her humanity and sense of trust by channelling and converting that fear into courage in a heroic attempt to save and protect her family.

Dark Phoenix is great. The action sequence is great and everybody were screaming in the theaters, closing there eyes when magneto and Jean fighting. Well enjoyed and it's a great way to end the saga. Very beautiful movie, one of my favorite scene is when Jean looks inside Charles's head to see how much he cared about her and how sincere he was. This scene occurs right after she have made him climb the stairs in a very heartless way which, in the next moment; is eclipsed by the unconditionnal love he showed her, that touched me hard. And of course with an amazing soundtrack

I think the music reflects perfectly what is the dark Phoenix. How Jean little by little she is falling into the darkness, even if she does not want to, until there is no coming back, and in the end she is completely absorbed by her dark power, because is her truly nature, and the last notes of the melody show how she makes peace with herself accepting her power and her dark nature. This score is a master piece that did everything that movie could not do.

This is exactly what Marvel needs BETTER SCORES. I absolutely love Alan Silvestri's score for The Polar Express, but man all the Avengers films I legit felt nothing for any character what so ever. The music is what gives me those emotions during a movie, and that is something Hans does perfectly, but in this film I tear up because you can feel the emotions from the characters through the music. Anyways Absolutely loved this movie's soundtrack, but I'll rate the movie a 6/10.
