Interestingly the director Baran bo Odar (Switzerland) and the writer Jantje Friese (Germany) are a couple with kids. Their 2nd show for Netflix called 1899 is in post production. Some of the actors from Dark are in it and they have the same music composer Ben Frost. So when you finished watching this show 1899 might be released already. As a Dark fan I can't wait for 1899 to be released. Thank you for sharing your watching experience with us! It makes it easier to wait :)

15:00 Ah yes, the iconic Familiar-Agnes Obel montage scene. Personally, that scene is the moment where i got even more hooked to the show. The side by side are like crumbs of hints but not quite giving the answers away yet. The writers are teasing and keep making us wanderers in the darkness. Its just amazing storytelling, casting, and photography.

What I love about Dark is that each season exponentially increases the complexity of the story. Season 3 is such a hard mindfuck. If FilmBuff can resolve everything the first time he watches it, I'll bow down. I wasn't able to put all the details together properly until the rewatch. It even took me videos on KZbin for some of the items that travel through time to get the right order together.

Getting those last names down will help keep things somewhat straight as they cut between timelines. The description of the show mentions 4 families. I just finished this episode for the first time. I love this show so much, started it cus of Im indeed! I'm struggling so hard to figure out the family connections and I adore that it's challenging me. PREDICTIONS BELOW, STOP IF U HAVEN'T WATCHED AND DON'T WANT UR THEORIES CONTAMINATED IN CASE I AM RIGHT: I have one obvious prediction and one less obvious prediction at this point (I am totally blind). 1) Mikkel is the stranger as Im also guessing. 2) I think the "crazy" old man is Jonas, also the person behind the ticking machine who now regrets what he did and trying to stop his younger self from going down the path. If this guess is correct, the show is so much like the movie Tenet (character stuck in a back and forth loop) and i am so fucking here for it!!!! Anyway let's see how wrong I end up being 🤪 starting ep 4 now! Edit: the deaf girl could be the result of inbreeding if the grandfather is actually Jonas as I suspect but I need one other familial link for that to work i think.. Man i love this story so much theory fuel. Hope u enjoy reading my silly thoughts. Guess i will read responses here when i finish it! Edit again : also maybe the other old man (Ulrich dad?) disappearing at night to see his still mistress (he is moustache guy, with the redhead lady from the plant can't remember their names..)

Just a little heads-up: I don't know if this is still an issue with Netflix, but a lot of reactors didn't realise that when they got to the 2nd or 3rd season, the subtitles were automatically changed from the normal English subtitles to the English CC subs for the dubbed version. So, when you suddenly see descriptions in the subs intended for the hearing impaired, these subs are sometimes way off since they are the translation of the English dub.

"Michael" isn't pronounced as "Mi-ka-el", the ch is a sound, that doesn't exist in english, as far as I'm aware. If youu want to know, what it sounds like, use google translate, to translate "pond" into the german word "Teich". That is also the same sound, which is at the end of "Ulrich"
@pseudonymousbeing9872 жыл бұрын
There are no answers in the title sequence, only questions the creators want you to ponder. I've taken a close look at the sequence. I believe that around episode 8 or 9 you can watch it without seeing any semblance spoilers. Yes, it is made up of shots from throughout the season. But most are effectively unrecognisable, and only a few are plain to see. You'll have seen every significant scene depicted by the end of episode 8, there are about 3 out of 5 left that you haven't seen by episode 3. I don't consider what we see in the sequence as spoilers. The remaining 3 shots with real significance are confusing and don't contain actual spoilers, only imagery that makes you wonder. I definitely want to see your reaction to the intro. Both to see what it makes you curious about, and what you make out of it retrospectively.

8:39 Well the one question you should ask when considering temporal displacement by deterministic time travel should always be "have I already seen an older version of the displaced?" Goes for objects as well as people or anything else. So yeah I had that theory, too. After all Michael knew the exact time and date of Mikkel's disappearance. @@_FILMBuFF_ don't stress too much over the correct pronunciation. we'll know who you mean, regardless. but if you're interested and/or this kind of thing is fun for you: in Michael the a and e are pronounced separately, you got that part right 👍 but, the emphasis is on the first syllable and the ch doesn't make a k sound, it's a soft throat sound, similar to the hissing of a cat, only less aggressive. the same as in Ulrich. the r in german is a more aggressive throat sound, nothing like the r in English. and in most German regions it is not rolled either. Mikkel, is just pronounced Mickle, again emphasis on the first syllable. you seem to always reach for the spanish pronunciation, which I'm afraid will always be wrong, sorry. there is next to no overlap between spanish and german in that regard. I've heard pretty much every american reactor pronounce Franziska "Francesca", which to german ears sounds like a completely different name 😄 here are a few more tips: german w is always pronounced like english v german v is pronounced like english f, most of the time, in rare cases like english v german z is always pronounced "ts" german i is always prounounced "ee" german e is tricky, it's either pronounced like the e in hell, or a middle thing between that and "ee", which again doesn't exist in english, a clean "ee" sound will always be wrong, though. so if in doubt, reach for the one in hell. german a is always pronounced like the a in father. german u is always pronounced "oo" but, all vowels in german have a long and a short form which doesn't just differ in the length of the sound but also shifts the sound slighty into something else (like the i in Winden is short, so it's not "ee" but exactly like the i "wind" - the one that blows, not the one that cranks - so it's "Vinden"), but you know... where would be the charm in having you sound 100% german. we all love an accent 😊 love your reactions btw. especially the discussions at the end of them, you seem like someone who has a really lovely brain.
