Oh this is amazing! We had a plum tree too, when I was a child, but being in the southern hemisphere plums ripening on the tree signified the beginning of summer, and Christmas!! Many joyful memories. I hope you get your plum tree.

This used to be the only channel I would listen to because there weren't any commercials.
