Yes, John Karlen is so opposite here from his "Willie Loomis" of the 1966-71 'prent time Dark Shadows' storylines ,with that squeaky pitch to his voice. It seems like it wouldn't have taken much to have convinced Karlen to portray "Pansy Faye" himself.

A bit of levity to take the bite out of other dark happenings.

I have always believed Carl to be quite gay, but in reality John Karlin was one of the few straight male actors on Dark Shadows.

Some fans have dissed this character and scene. But I think it's a real hoot! And Jonathan Frid's nonplussed expression seems real!

Bet Nancy Barrett had fun with this character.

After Barnabas' "The Hell?" it looks like Beth is thinking at him, "Yes... I know..." and here comes Judith with a dress pink enough to match her (future-date) lipstick. SHEEZ! Yeah, I also noticed that zoom-in and out was a bit too fast... (Yes! Barnabas has Jedi powers... darn it, Sara, I wish you could see my latest Barnabas-Jedi outfit!) Okay, okay... I shall "save" Carl and Pansy if/when possible, Osheen. Anyway, I came back to this one because, even though I have now watched this episode, but I wanted to repeat my comment from back when I hadn't seen it: "Barnabas, Nice Coat!"
