Great video! I do think the text without text to speech was better, I think the flowery prose feels more natural and clever without the stiff computer narration, especially because (at least for me) a lot of the comedic elements rely on the right kind of mental enunciation. Either way, nice to see the visit to Dark Souls 2, they really had some interesting mechanics in this one.

I do lean in your favor in this poll, Burton, though as a slow reader the text to speech is a boon not so easily cast aside. Mayhaps if the texts just lingered a bit longer so there's a smidgen more time to ingest?

I dont know which i prefer. Ive enjoyed reading the dialogue in the past but im sure many people dont even bother reading it, so in a way the voice makes so that people dont miss out on the dialogue. It definitely contributes a lot to the videos, makes them very immersive

I was skeptical, but I think the voiced dialogue is very good, it makes it a smoother experience vs having to read. And the variation in voices I think helps a lot. If it were the voice it would have gotten repetitive

Voiced dialogue is definitely better for sitting back and relaxed watching, but when it's not voiced you use your imagination more, which is funnier. But I don't think I can choose. I think either way works. Maybe if it is very dialogue heavy the voice is better since then you don't have to constantly read. If the dialogue is sparser then reading is fine

I appreciate you experimenting. I realize with the TTS that I'd gotten used to having the voices be what I'd imagined, so I kinda prefer it without TTS. But it's far from a dealbreaker, just a minor preference IMO.

I actually liked the TTS, but not more than the plain text versions! I think it works best for when an enemy suddenly dies and the voice gets cut off abruptly. ^ ^

I like how your character looks like an actual fairy. I feel like I prefer silent dialogue, but I wonder if voiced dialogue would have broad appeal to people who randomly find your videos in the algorithm. Wait and see how this one performs, but since it is Dark Souls 2 it probably won't get as many views as Elden Ring content.

What's the soul memory on this build? What's the soul memory to optimize pvp matches in this game?

Hi, the game is too old now with too few players to bother with PvP outside of the Arena of Blood. You will wait much too long to find invasions. It's best to just duel in the Arena of Blood, where you will find matches very, very quickly. I never wait more than 20 seconds. In the Arena of Blood, soul memory does not apply and your level also doesn't matter, the game will match you up with anyone if it can't find someone that is close to you. However, you should at least be level 150 or else you will suffer too much against very high level players. My character in this video is level 292 and soul memory is 32 million. My Stats are (roughly) 35 Vigor, 20 something Endurance, 14 Vitality, 21 strength, 21 dexterity, 78 faith, 78 intelligence, 20 something in Adaptability and quite high Attunement to be able to hold climax and a few other spells. The dex and strength are all that I need to use the estoc, bandit axe and channeler's trident weapons. I went all in on faith and intelligence because Dark magic and climax scale with the lowest of those two stats. I was only interested in killing people with climax, so it's a troll glass cannon build, hence the low vigor and vitality. But, the dark infused bandit axe buffed with dark weapon does absurd damage and it's R2 one handed attack is brutally good, so even with my low health and stamina I still beat a lot of people with that axe when climax failed, but I didn't include that in the video. You can do almost 1000k damage with one hit with that axe.

@@radovend2023 scholar or vanilla? I was playing scholar not too long ago and I never got any arena of blood matches. I would just wait forever. I thought I was over leveled. Ds2 is my favorite pvp game and I was very disheartened when I was unable to get arena of blood matches. Are you in a discord? Id love to get back into ds2 pvp.
