For example, Gwyn tries, in every way he can, to destroy the dark, but she uses a dark weapon, basically a remnant of the dark soul, since there is a pygmy lord. But I can understand that, maybe she used that thing cuz duty to guard The mad king, and she always lived in the ringed city which is a prison put by gwyn to contain the humans (so she didn't have a God teaching her) but still, her faith is twisted smh, although sincere. Havel on the other hand has the opposite kind of faith, the orthodox-intransigent one, to the point he hates everything which is not faith-based (apart from his pure strength ofc) for example magic.

[Spoilers ahead] Hodrick vs. Ledo: From all the times I have fought Ledo, I've usually seen him two-hand his hammer. I knew Hodrick was at a loss. Zoey vs. Havel: Zoey actually did really well in the first round. I knew Havel would turtle the whole time and he could tank much of the damage, so I knew he was gonna win. Honestly, I would expect any NPC that turtles around to win. Shira vs. Dunnel: I underestimated Dunnel bigtime in this fight. Didn't expect him to take the first round. let alone come close. I was surprised. That was a nailbiting final round. If Dunnel used more chaos fireballs, he would've won. It seemed to have worked extremely well on Shira. Hawkwood vs. Lapp: I had a hard time predicting who would win this. Lapp's WA is extremely dangerous and Lapp cowers behind his shield, but Hawkwood is extremely aggressive and has 7 flasks. If Hawkwood healed himself, he would have won. I was quite frustrated with his AI on that note. Ledo vs. Havel: I had a great feeling Havel would come out on top. But it didn't particularly feel too close. Havel was a R1 spamming monster, much more than Ledo was. Shira vs. Lapp: I predicted incorrectly this fight too. I love Shira, but I thought Lapp's turtling would overpower her. I was wrong, and I am happy with the outcome of this fight. Havel vs. Shira: That was really close. I predicted correctly, but I though it would be 2-0 and not even close, even with Shira's strong damage output and estus. A nail-biter of a fight. One of my favorites. Also love Shira taunting Havel. Loser bracket maybe to see who the worst NPC is? I'd guess Geirat and Sirris in finals.

I think Havel beats Ledo because Ledo doesn't have the poise to be able to trade blows with him. When it comes to big smashy weapons against each other it really comes down to who can eat a hit in order to stunlock combo, and the SK armor just can't stand against Havel's.

This is ending was absolutely perfect, the matchups were great. Dunnel and Shira was a pretty smart fight with good dodging and outspacing, probably my favorite fight. And the final was so close I was on the edge of my seat. Shira taunting Havel for wiffing added a great touch of rivalry almost as if they were real players

@@thaias9654 Bonfire VN most often uses the maximum NG+ loop settings, whereas Pantagana specifically uses basic NG. Pantagana has explained how not everyone scales the same in the NG+ loops, which is why Gael and Midir are able to beat NG Yhorm. Yhorm gets far higher stat boosts the futher the loops go compared to any other boss.

He is indeed powerful but, he has two weaknesses; his swing is slow and he doesn't heal. I found that parrying or backstabbing is the easiest way to kill him. I fought him in all three dark souls games, but I always parry him to death.

While I picked Havel to win when this was announced, I will say that the seeding, starting in the last video, probably played a decent role in the outcome. Hawkwood, who was my dark horse coming into this one, may have had a good chance vs Shiria or Havel, had he not been matched up agains (other) spin to win boi. I feel like Lapp was probably the worst possible matchup for Hawkwood. Having said all that, I would be super interested in another one of these next year or whenever really, with different seeding and a tweaked format. Also, could probably do without a majority of the matches from the first few videos next time, as we all know who was going to win those lol. Awesome videos and thank you for doing this! Way more entertaining than the NCAA tourney lol.

Lapp basically has as much stamina as Havel does defence. It's crazy how much that bastard can block. On a DS3 randomizer run, I once saw him block phase 3 Gaels weapon art attack in It's entirety.

Even with our years of knowledge regarding who the biggest badasses are, this final round was full of nail-biters that put almost everything down to the wire. Magnificent battles took place here, and the finale was spectacular. Thanks Pantagana! Rest well. I'd love to see something similar done with Dark Souls 1 and 2, even if Tarkus, Leeroy, Thomas, and Maldron might be huge favorites. In normal NG, who knows who could win?

@@s8theninjawarrior916 Fair enough, but she's not supposed to be as tanky obviously, tanky slow hitting usually wins out in NPC battles because the AI is not very good at dodging and they will just stand there and eat hits.

Havel's in our hearts too, but Shira absolutely earned a place alongside him. She genuinely goes above and beyond as literally the final enemy NPC in the entire Dark Souls franchise.

The whole tournament literally came down to one hit. Lots of derping from the loser or it would have easily went the other way. That was a great series!

@@s8theninjawarrior916 Hawkwood's first opponent was Hodrick, though. It was when he killed Hodrick that Pantagana decided he should extend the first stage of the tournament. (And both Hawkwood and Shira fought Gael earlier, but sure, let's call him kinda weak and not a real battle.)
