The only thing you get for killing the red dragon is 10K souls, and the satisfaction of knowing you made the bridge a safer place for future generations of hollows.

The Black Knight Halberd isn't really a rare drop. I believe it has a 20% drop rate. What makes it hard to get is the fact that (before the Kiln of the First Flame) there are only two Black Knights that wield it and have a chance of dropping it, and they don't respawn.

Congratulations on completing Dark Souls! What a journey you’ve been on, Capy🎉 Now… bloodborne hehehe❤

Well, that Dark Souls journey of yours was certainly something to behold. Over the months, you matured from timid player to seasoned gamer by finishing DS1, and finishing it very well. This is an achievement many others have not unlocked. Congratulations, and thanks for letting me tag along in spirit. 😉 I hope you will think fondly of your adventures in Lordran in the future.

For a good few days I didn't know what to do with myself after finishing the game. This will definitely be an experience that will stay with me. You've helped me a lot through this game and I really appreciate it! ❤️

Very sweet of you to give me a mention. Thank you ☺️ The only thing you get from the drake is a sword if you cut its tail off but it’s only useful very early on and it doesn’t scale with level, so it’s not really worth it. You’re right about Gwyn, he’s a shadow of his former self and a tragic figure but he’s still aggressive. Learning to parry utterly trivialises his fight but you did really well against him. There was an alternate ending to the one you chose. Perhaps you’ll be drawn back one day. Watch Vaatividya’s lore videos if you want to fill in the gaps. Look at how far you’ve come. You were one-shotting enemies that you were running from a few streams ago. I’m really impressed. I look forward to seeing what you do next (but if it’s Dark Souls 2, I’ll be absolutely no help 😅)

Aww you're welcome, of course I had to mention you! You've been commenting on every video I post which means the world to me 🥹I think for sure one day I'll come back to this game mostly just for a nostalgia run and maybe to go and try my hand at Kalameet. I definitely need to take a look at the lore because I missed a lot of it from ignoring most of the items I picked up haha. I hope you enjoy the next series if you stick around but no pressure!

@capykali Count me in on the thanks for the mention. I'm so glad I could help.

@7:44 I think the fire is there because the developers wanted to draw your eye to this location so you would see the chest (mimic) which has some importance.
@Lardzor26 күн бұрын
@19:47 I usually just cheese the dragon with a leveled up bow. You can shoot it from the lower ledge just outside the doorway to the room that has the rats in it. About 30 large arrows with a +10 longbow or better should do it. You have to approach that ledge without going through the room with the bonfire underneath the dragon's perch. If you go in the room under the dragon's perch, the dragon will fly away. The Red dragon can regenerate its health when it gets low, so having a leveled up bow is essential to out-damage his healing. Having a weak bow doesn't mean you can kill it with more arrows if it can heal faster than you can damage it.

I knew there was something about the tail by the lower bridge! Trust me to never master the bow and arrow though ;_; Maybe in future...
@Lardzor26 күн бұрын
@4:42 The item haning by the rope can be cut by the spell-caster on the ledge. It probably incidentally severed the rope when it was casting spells at you.

@theheartoftheunicorn20 күн бұрын

You may remember i said there is another ending too. You just walk away and don't let yourself be used for the new flame.
@capykali21 күн бұрын
If you walk away can you still begin NG+? I didn't realize going to the bonfire would trigger that ending, it was just so natural that a bonfire would be there after every boss ;_;
@carltumminello304920 күн бұрын
@capykali I assume so? It's an ending too. But I am not 100 percent sure.

@15:46 If you come here after speaking with Gwynevere and defeating the Four Kings, but before giving the Soul Vessel to Frampt, you will get to meet Kaathe. If you have already given the Soul Vessel to Frampt, then Kaathe does not appear.

Ooooh, that's how you trigger the other snake, I was just speaking with @skaraturbo about why he didn't appear. Thanks for the info ❤️

The way i learned to beat Gwyn was parrying. He is far easier to parry than anything else in the game. So parry, strike, heal if needed, repeat. Otherwise he is just too aggressive for me.
@capykali21 күн бұрын
Parrying is something I never learnt how to do ;_;
@carltumminello304920 күн бұрын
@capykali yeah parrying sucks in the rest of the game. Gwyn is the only fight where it's doable.
@WaywardPython26 күн бұрын
And she's done it!!! Beating Gwyn in three attempts is pretty impressive (even if you did have everything you needed to tank him, but that still doesn't make it easy). And don't feel sorry for him - yes, he's an old man, but he's turned into a husk and he's prolonging the Age of Fire beyond its natural end. And now you've taken his place. If you'd have walked out of the room you'd have got the other ending. That's not a 'good' ending either, there are no good endings in Dark Souls. Trust you to fight an early-game dragon who's not very interesting, and miss the late-game dragon who's extremely interesting... 😆 But you got all the other bosses, so you can always go back to Oolacile next time you start a run (I'm not sure I'd want to do it in New Game Plus). I only just noticed that you had fire keeper souls in your inventory but didn't use them, so your estus was stuck at +3. Even more impressive! I said you could beat this game, I knew it from the early stages. Congratulations on pushing through to the end. It's been a pleasure to share the journey with you.
@capykali20 күн бұрын
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I can't believe it's over, it took a good 6 months and I honestly didn't think it would be a game I'd stick with but it was a really enjoyable albeit frustrating experience. Thanks for staying for the series and providing all the useful advice! What ending did you choose?
@WaywardPython20 күн бұрын
@ Funny you ask that. On my first playthrough I didn’t notice there was a bonfire and I just walked out of the room. Many people refer to that as the ‘bad’ ending, but in terms of the lore it’s actually the good one. Except nothing in Dark Souls is ever really good. It’s complicated.
@capykali20 күн бұрын
@ I think had I known that going to the bonfire would trigger an ending I would have chosen the alternative. Then again, it would feel incomplete not going to a bonfire after a boss fight 😆
@ohmyshoulder924926 күн бұрын
Oh did you skip kalameet?
@capykali26 күн бұрын
I knooooow I feel so bad 💔 I don't know why I didn't think it would be a boss but just like the drake you see by the Valley of the Drakes. Something to put on the to do list for the future.
@ohmyshoulder924926 күн бұрын
Well it sucks but Congratulations for finishing the game! Looking forward to next one (Dark souls 2 maybe?).
@skaraturbo26 күн бұрын
Congratulations! but now then the game is over i can tell you that Frampt[the snake) actually tricks you to link the fire not telling you that it will cost you your life. There is another Snake you can meat in the abyss and he will tell u the truth but leaving the fire at the end will make you the dark lord but thats also a rather bad ending becuse thats pobably what happend to Oolocile so there is no good ending basicly. Dark souls 2 is all about the curse of the undead its rather different from DS 1 more slow and tactical and very hard if you try to rush through it but very doable if u take it slow!
@capykali21 күн бұрын
Thank you! But they made Frampt such a likeable character ;_; He was just the chill snake that snoozes in Firelink. How could he... Maybe I did something wrong but I didn't see the other snake in the Abyss, I do have an act for missing the most obvious things though 😂 I was hoping the Abyss would light up at some point but wasn't expecting another snake.
@skaraturbo20 күн бұрын
@capykali The other snake only appear if you go to the abyss before showing Frampt the Lord Vessel! Frampt then proceed you to the Lord Vessel place and you have no choice but placing the lord vessel on the throne which make it imposseble to meet Kathe the other Snake. As a blind player is very easy to miss Kathe becuse it feels normal to go ro Frampt with the lord vessel! Are you going to play Dks 2 i hope so?
@capykali20 күн бұрын
@ Awww no, would have been cool to meet Kathe 😢 Maybe in a future NG+ run. New series will be revealed tomorrow, I hope you’ll enjoy it ✨
