Skeletons in almost every RPG game including the Dark Souls series are resistant to thurst/pierce dmg and are weak to blunt/strike dmg. But thrust dmg in General is rarely resisted in DS2.

Didnt Mytha's blade deal toxic, stronger (and stackable with) poison?

Apparently it applies both according to the wiki. I never noticed it proc toxic, since I did my testing on a relatively poison/toxic resistant boss, as that's fairly relevant to the weapon's overall power. The cool thing about that is that you could farm two of them and then shred a bunch of bosses, although the dagger hitbox is less than ideal. By the time you'd be able to get enough dragon bones to do that though, they'd be well below some of your other options, given the tendency for DLC bosses to be poison resistant or immune. Still, uniquely powerful when it does work, that's for sure.

Katanas aren't bad, and I've used the Uchigatana a decent amount. If I'm not mistaken, the moveset is the same as the Uchigatana, which isn't a bad thing, but it also means it's not doing anything totally insane or broken, at least in terms of moveset. As for the damage, it's decently better than the Uchigatana, (about as much as a Flynn's Ring) which is pretty good, but the self-damage is something I really hate because it adds up. I'm not really a huge fan of powerstanced katanas, but they're probably better than, say, powerstanced Falchions. So it's an ok weapon probably, if not good, but not one I'd ever want to use. With all that said, it does have a major crippling flaw, that being the only way to get it is to kill Lost Sinner on NG+, and Lost Sinner is IMO one of the more annoying fights on NG+, so whatever strategy you are using to get the weapon is probably stronger than the weapon itself.

Hey thanks! Yeah those are another set of solid bleed weapons. Downside is you have to farm for them, but great catch.
