Pretty much through your 1st playthrough you're holding hands with your helper and then once the training wheels on your second playthrough come off, it at least gets difficult when you hit areas where the blood of the lost pops up because you're getting butt f#$&@ by mobs lol (I'm a 1h sword build so I don't have the luxury to dive head in with a great sword or hammer lol)

@raccoonmaster3681 idk if you can solo by yourself but it definitely would make it a challenge if you didn't have a companion. Companions really do come in clutch. I ran 2h on my first run so it wasn't too bad then NG+ I ran stun build which helped me cheese everything until the duo bosses. At that point I just played aggressively smart dodging 98% of the time and 2% tickling them with stun that has no effect on them lol

The blood codes function as selecting individual stats in Dark Souls. You can be a bruiser one minute and then a mage within a few load-out changes. I personally think that makes it easier to find out what you want to play, rather than spending hours and levels to upgrade stats then have to re-spend them all again for a different build

How to make a game like dark souls -Make it slow and sluggish. -Make the enemies kill you in 3 hits but have it take 20 hits for you to kill them. -always spawn way more enemies than required

Cloaks not only give u different abilities but give bonuses to different magic types, and have different timings for parry. Different blood codes are basically your classes instead of choosing putting points into dex/str/ etc.... Plus you can max out skills from each class to mix it into other blood codes. It's pretty insane on what you can build.

Afro, you can modify your attacks by holding R1 R1 + Square is a modified weak attack R1 + Triangle is a launcher that leads into a drain attack automatically when focused There are also three different attacks you can do directly after a dodge roll depending on if you roll forward, to the side, or straight back (the roll that happens when you stand still) So combat DOES have some variety as well as the different weapons each having their own unique moveset. You just have to pay attention to it a bit.

For less barebone combat if you press button combinations you can do different moves depending on your weapon. For example next time you play try pressing right bumper and square or bumper and triangle.
