Just got the 6s and was really impressed with the drums sounds and samples within the unit. They sound beefy and full of deep energy. Analog drum sound much better than samples in drum rack in ableton. Much better
@sh-kw2ox2 жыл бұрын
Tr6s isn't analogue its digital. Good sounds but compared to a proper analogue drum synth it lacks that flavour you can only get from analogue gear. I'm not a snob though, I got the tr8s and think it's great but also have analogue machines to compare it to.
@robisapixel2 жыл бұрын
@@sh-kw2ox Im aware. It has analog modeling.. that is the sound I am speaking of.
@TR-nk3jf2 жыл бұрын
@@sh-kw2ox Analog vs digital argument is very subjective. Digital machines have far more flexibility and with modelling technology these days and in particular Roland's own ACB technology digital machines also have similar character but with more flexibility. IMO digital is on par with analog and in a lot of facets it is better.
@sh-kw2ox2 жыл бұрын
@@TR-nk3jf agree digital is great for flexibility but comparing my analogue machines to my digital machines I just feel they have a certain mojo that digital can't replicate unless you warm up through a distortion unit or mixer. I get the same feeling with mixers , anything I put through my ssl desk and bus comp just gets that special something , my digital desk and comp is good but just lacks that 5%
@Matt-zp1jn Жыл бұрын
ACB is analog circuit behaviour where they strip it all the way down to modelling the actual analog tones from the circuit level. It is much better than typical samples, presets, VST’s, even SUPERnatural, and Zencore, as an Analog reproduction. In a mix production no one will know the difference, that’s how close the ACB technology of Roland is in faithfully modelling their Analog polysynths & analog drum machines of the past!

This is sick dude...do you need some kind of mixer to play both together dawless? I'm trying to figure it out dawless...I'm usually using it thru Ableton
@Klintebjarnen8 ай бұрын
Yes, I'm using a small mixer. Yeah! I think you should go for it! It's really not that complicated. You just have to sync your gear to each other with a midi or sync cable. (I'm using midi from the drum machine to the Volca in this video). And then use a mixer to bring all the sound together :))

@Klintebjarnen2 жыл бұрын
Hey! It's simple really! It is the bass sound that makes the rumble feel. Here's how you do it : 1. Choose a bass sound of your choice ( from the synth section) and place it on every step in-between the kick drum. 2. Set the velocity so that it gradually increases for every step. Like this : KICK - BASS low velo - BASS mid velo - BASS hight velo - KICK - - - - repeat for the whole pattern that's it! I used one of my own samples for the kick. Cheers!

The TR-6S is a really solid machine for sure! I like the faders for each track and the built in fx. The workflow of loding your own samples into the machine (something I wanted to do allready after a couple of weeks) could definitely be better an easyer. The tr6s has the original circuitry that creates the classic roland sounds such as 808, 909, 606, but honestly, Im not really sure if I would hear the difference from a sample based machine (with good quality samples of course). Other than that, i like it very much! And I ton’t know if there is any alternative compeditors out there that can do wat the TR-6S can do :) Cheers!
