Scar hit him from behind when his back was turned, and the resulting concussion would have erased that moment from his memory anyway. He probably never really thought about how he ended up unconscious and likely just imagined he flew into the cliff wall by accident. And the teeth on that skull are too blunt and flat on the sides to be a Lion's. It's a baboon skull.

I absolutely agree, I was about to point out those two things as well! That's NOT a lion skull and yes, I believe Zazu didn't tell anyone because he simply couldn't remember due to the cuncussion. He was hit in the back (so he didn't see who or what hit him, so he couldn't know) and he was completely knocked out - which probably affected his memory of what happened. As for Simba and Nala being related, I'm actually pretty sure that they are, considering how lion prides work...

@@GraupeLie Lion King isn't a documentary, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't allow incest in their films. They are still anthropomorphic animals, meaning they have human values, morals and emotions. One Lion murdering another in the animal kingdom is nothing abnormal or tragic to lions, but because TLK is a human tale told through animals, it was a big deal emotionally and morally reprehensible. They changed the script for Simba's Pride from Kovu being Scar's son, to not being; to AVOID incestuous implications. Normal for lions or not, it's still a Disney film.

Disney can't even show the lion characters successfully hunting an animal to eat, let alone have incestuous relationships. Bambi and Faline were originally cousins in the book it was based on, and yet they cut that right out of the film because...eww.

Those books with the new adventures are more fitting than the lion guard. But yes, I totally get what you're saying. Good thing is, in the films it's never mentioned in any way, so everyone can pretty much believe what they want. Of course, incest in a film for kids is not the wisest idea to include 😂

I have to heavily disagree with the “Mufasa is evil” theory for several reasons First off, yes, it does appear that Mufasa banished the Hyenas for no good reason. But then you relies how huge this Hyena pack is. During the “long live the king” shot of ‘Be Prepared’ you’ll see 144 Hyenas. That’s nearly double the amount of a pack spotted hyenas. Mufasa, or a past king, banished the Hyenas because otherwise, the pack would overflow and desolate the pride lands in the blink of an eye. Second, the law that the Lions can eat the other animals is the law of Nature. They eat enough animals to maintain a balance in the ecosystem. If Mufasa decided to change that, the other animals would overpopulate and overeat the plants to the point that it becomes a wasteland. Lastly, I feel that the “story told by the victors” argument could easily apply to almost any story. It would be like arguing that The Wicked Queen is actually the good guy because she actually tried to kill Snow White because her Magic Mirror prophesied that Snow’s rule would spell doom for the kingdom. Or Maleficent is actually the good guy because she believed monarchy’s were wrong and she wanted to put an end to it by killing the next heir. I could go on. The point is, I don’t see how you can make an argument by changing the story too what you assume is the real story.

I would agree to that if I hadn't just realised that Zazu's hella resilient. I mean he was stepped on, trampled on, sat on by big and fat animals and even carried them for a while on his own and he still lives. It’s a biological fact that when a male lion overthrows a herd, they kill the cubs that aren’t his own in order to keep obtaining their pride. That would mean that Scar had possibly killed multiple lion cubs in order to make sure only lions in his blood could rule. Nala either got lucky or ran away as a cub to find Simba.

I don't think #1 holds any water. Mufasa is never shown to teach Simba what animals are edible. The clip you show is about Mufasa teaching Simba about the circle of life. Simba's question of, "But dad, don't we eat the antelope?" has nothing to do with him questioning whether they're able to be eaten or not. In fact, it shows that he already knew they were edible. Simba asks that in response to his father telling him that a king has to RESPECT antelope. Cutting that scene down to that brief moment is one hell of a picked cherry, lol. If anything, Simba didn't eat Pumba because Pumba probably weighed 3-4x as much as Simba did when they met and by the time Simba /could/ eat him, they were buddies. Or he could've chosen to not eat Timon and Pumba because they were literally the only other people he knew and they saved his life. The creatures in the movie are not mindless animals subject to overwhelming biological imperative and instinct, after all. #2... also feels a bit flimsy to me. Sure, Zazu is treated like crap and that could be a motivation to be a traitor, but I think a more compelling argument for Zazu /not/ being a traitor is that he followed Simba and Nala into the badlands and tried to get them to go home. If he wanted Simba dead, all he had to do was nothing. Once the cubs ditched him beneath the rhino, all he had to do is nothing and Simba would've almost certainly been killed by the hyenas. Yet Zazu tries to get them to go home. Why would he do that if he was a traitor? Because Mufasa would be upset with him, maybe? I dunno, Mufasa didn't seem to blame Zazu as it was and even if he did, that would make it pretty difficult to get Simba killed in a way that Mufasa wouldn't hold Zazu responsible for it. As for why would he not say anything about Scar knocking him out? Well, maybe he did. Maybe Scar convinced the others he was lying... or maybe they didn't care because their social hierarchy mandated a king, and Scar was the only male. It wasn't until Simba returned that the females went into open rebellion against Scar, after all. It's also possible that Zazu was just unaware that Scar did it. #3... well, I still don't think this is true, but I can't think of an argument against it. It's one of those things where maybe, possibly, it might've happened, but there isn't any solid evidence for it one way or the other. It's certainly macabre that Scar keeps a skull around and plays with it like that, though, regardless of what species it came from. #4 holds the highest possibility of being true, in my opinion. Even if you ignore how lions work in real life, there are still only two males in the whole pride. We literally see no other male lions... and cubs have to come from somewhere. They don't just spring into existence, so either Mufasa or Scar had to knock Nala's mom up. The only other option is Nala's father is one of the outsider lions, which seems less likely than it being Scar or Mufasa to me. #5 is... wishy-washy, again. Mufasa may not have been a "good" guy, exactly, but Scar is most definitely the bad guy of the story and a bad person overall. Said story does not take place in the past tense. We are not hearing a tale from someone around a campfire or anything. We're watching events unfold as they happen as far as the story is concerned, so the history being written by the victor argument doesn't work, imo. I think this is reading in way too deep into a children's movie. #6... uh... well, I suppose that depends on your definition of a cult. And a leader. I don't really know what to say to this one, to be honest. Your points are all valid and the only things I can think of to counter it are, "Does two followers really make a cult?" and "We have no evidence that Timon created Hakuna Matata on his own. For all we know, Pumba thought of it first and Timon ran with it. Just like the idea of having a lion around." Both of which are pretty weak arguments. Timon is certainly manipulative and charismatic enough to fit the bill, but at the same time he does end up bowing to Simba's authority when he becomes king, so... I dunno. This one seems a bit silly to even bring up.

My thoughts on these theories: 1: Don't really have anything to say 2: It would make sense that Zazu would want Simba out of the way for his spoiled attitude that would show him to be a bad ruler in the future (as also shown in the sequel), but I'm unsure about him working with Scar. And the reason he probably didn't inform the pride about Scar knocking him out was because he didn't know Scar did it, because his back was turned and he probably got amnesia of the event afterwards 3: MatPat's theory states that isn't a lion's skull (so not Mufasa's), but a baboon's skull. Probably has something to do with Rafiki 4. No comment 5. I would strongly disagree with this theory, Mufasa exiled the hyenas from the pride lands because he knows they would overhunt animals and break the circle of life, resulting in the land turning into the way it was when Scar was ruling. 6. This theory may be correct, but as another comment states, Pumbaa would be the smarter one because he comes up with the ideas such as adopting Simba but Timon takes them as his own

Here's my dark theory: Timon and pumbaa don't actually care about simba. they make it clear to each other early on that they are only adopting him so that they could have a lion to serve as a bodyguard. And when Simba goes off with nala, they both start crying. maybe they are genuine tears, but it could also be that they're just sad that they lost their bodyguard. The contradiction to this theory is that they fought to help Simba reclaim his homeland, but that could also just be self-serving. they probably realized that if they were the best friends of the new lion king, that that would increase their position in life. So even their seemingly selfless acts have an actual selfish purpose.

*Dark Theory:* Mufasa would still be alive if he had been the father of Kiara instead of Simba (and Simba was more a Brother to Kiara rather than his child) - No need to murder the King if he can just marry the Princess/Heiress instead, right? (Incest aside, they're lions) So in a sad unfortunate way, Simba did in fact kill his father, tho obviously he had no choice in the matter (of being born and being born male not female). Also I bring up it having to be Kiara to marry Scar, not Nala, because I think most of us have seen the scene that was cut where Scar attempted to marry/mate w Nala only to be rejected. It seems to me Pumba is the smarter of the two. While he seems a bit dim, he usually comes up with ideas that Timon will steal moments later. Pumba was the one to suggest having Simba on their side and even correctly guesses what stars are just by observation. Timon may not be as smart, but he is a better con-man and keeps Pumba under his thumb.

I think he meant as an adult and a full grown male lion sure could make a warthog his dinner, not necessarily quite easy though, because warthogs can be tough preys to kill and they sure can do lots of damages to their predators just with their natural strenght and especially when using their horn-like-teeth to hit their attacker with, which might be deadly enough to hurt a lion to death, but even though adults leopards can be killed by warthogs while hunting them, on the other hand, that doesn't mean they can't succeed in their huntings, sometimes, and still can kill a warthog after one more or less long run, preceded by a smart embush and followed by a raging battle...so considering one lion's average physical power compared to one leopard's, Simba just had statistically better chances to eat Pumba than a random leopard does anyway, because that's what stats are about and stats are in Simba's favor compared to single leopards...just saying facts.

Lions will kill the MALE cubs of other Male Pride Leaders, they tend to simply assume the ownership of the Other Pride’s lionesses and female cubs, once they dominate the Head Lioness and take her as their mate. So it is just as possible that Mufusa, after becoming King, expanded his Pride by winning and taking another Male’s lionesses and female cubs, which included Sarabi as his Queen and her sister Sarafina, who was already pregnant at the time with Nala. Nala being from such a strong genetic bloodline and more importantly NOT related to Simba, would have made her the ideal choice for Simba to be betrothed to. Her pedigree and strength, both physically and her skills as a leader, taking over as Head Lioness from Sarabi, who raised her as a surrogate daughter, is also why Scar was intensely interested to breed with her and tried to rape her, before Nala’s escape from the Pridelands, with help from Sarabi, leaving Scar furious at losing, not just his best huntress, but his best chance at a strong royal heir. His marriage to Zira did not provide a strong male heir in Nuka, who was thin, gangly and socially inept and his second child was Vitani.a headstrong female - but a female nonetheless. So Scar sent Zira out to male with a strong male, who was physically similar in features to him and bring him back a strong heir, which was Kovu. Simba desperate to put the tragic past behind him and be a good and generous ruler, allowed Zira, Scar’s Pride and her cubs to stay in the Pridelands, Kovu was born and things were peaceful, until Zira killed Simba’s first son Kopa , who was developing a close friendship with Vitani, in revenge for Scar. Simba was heartbroken and furious - Zira, her cubs and Scar’s lionesses were banished/exiled from the Pridelands, with the punishment of death should they dare step foot back in the Pridelands. Simba who was a carefree and lenient father with Kopa, became overprotective and overbearing towards Kiara.

That is why I am convinced that Kovu from the second movie is Scar's son. Not only is he the perfect image of Scar (black mane, dark body, piercing green eyes, sexy voice) we learn that Simba BANISHED Zira and her lionesses/cubs from the Pridelands when he overthrew Scar. He spared Kovu's life when he confronts Zira, but he still forces them back to the Pridelands after Zira tells Simba that her son was chosen to be Scar's heir and take up his crown as the King. They just banished them rather than kill the young Kovu because its Disney and they didn't want to traumatize the kiddies.

CeltycSparrow Kovu even says that Scar is not his father though, which means that either Zira went out and mated with another lion after Nuka and Vitani were born. Or he was hand chosen by Scar, perhaps another Pride Male was sent by Nala to try and dethrone Scar, Scar ended up defeating them and killing everyone, except for Kovu, who was spared.

As Sarabi mothered Simba, Sarafina would have also had Nala via one of the male lions in the pride that Mufasa took her and Sarabi from. That still means they're related, as their mothers are siblings. They're still technically cousins.

I got a really dark one from The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride. Do you remember Kovu’s sister, Vitani? There is a theory is that she is the daughter of Nala and Scar from a force mating. Not only does she have Nala’s fur, nose and eye color and Scar’s sharp outlander body characteristics, there is a deleted scene and a whole song from the musical about how Scar wants Nala as his queen so he can have heirs, which makes Nala run away in the first place. During the final battle of the second movie, Vitani even looks Nala in the eyes and says, “Where’s your pretty daughter, Nala?” right before she attacks her. There are some holes in this theory obviously (the biggest being that Kiara, Simba and Nala’s confirmed daughter, appears to be the same age as Vitani), but nonetheless I think it’s very interesting.

Very interesting indeed, but there are a few problems with that theory. First, in The Madness of King Scar, that deleted scene, Scar got the idea of having a queen and he first throght of Nala, then he kind of tries to rape her, but she escaped and got exiled( and then ran away to find help, so that's how she found Simba). Probably his next choice was Zira. Also Vitani's eyes are kind of violet, and she could very well be the daughter of Scar and Zira because of the recessive gene ( that means Vitani could have inherited some of her features from her grandparents). There's too the theory that Vitani and Kovu could be twins or that they were stolen from their birth parents. And for the "Where's your pretty daughter, Nala?" line, I always assumed that she was just refering to Kiara. Nothing more, nothing less. So I personally don't believe in that theory, but of course you are allowed to think whatever you want. That's just my point.

Zira and her newborn daughter too( if it's her daughter, I believe she is). That's how Nala could know her name. But again the timeline is messed up. If Vitani was born before Nala left, then the song The Madness of King Scar is wrong ( as I said in an earlier comment, Scar only then got the idea of having a queen). If Vitani was born when Nala came back, she could somehow catch her name. Now the most valide theory would be: Considering a lioness is pregnant for almost four months, that means the end of the lion king is close to four months later. In the meantime, Vitani and Kovu were born and the followers of Scar got banished. That's my opinion, but I would like to hear others theory about this.
