I never understood why NJO got so much hate, it was a brave move to do such a big story arc and not include the usual foe IE the sith. NJO as a whole is one of favourite EU eras, and Nom Anor is a brilliant foe who has an epic story arc..

If there is one pattern Star Wars" fans" exhibit it is that they hate Star Wars. Especially if it's new. There's an understandable emotional backlash to Chewie dying, but being realistic Star Wars fans are driven more by nostalgia and comfort than anything else and HATE new ideas.

I agree, the people who hate it hate it tho, they cant stand chewie dieing. Honestly vector prime starts off unique, the whole series slowly builds up, but it could of been wrapped up a little better, but its still really good imo. The whole vong concept is really cool, evertime i talk about it to someone who doesnt know about expanded universe, or any books really, theyre really interested and think it sounds cool. They like the idea of a extragalactic enemy thats outside the force, and both sides having to come together to defeat them overall. Its not rebels vs this or that or centered around jedis for the most part, it introduces a new race and a good amt of new characters. It almost feels like a starwars like side story or something, but ends up snowballing into a serious threat. And then the chewie stuff, vector prime and thrawn and maybe some x wing books ive had the most success with getting other people to read, but vector prime is popular more now then it was because of the whole game of thrones factor, now people are more into big characters dieing off. When this book first came out, people were nottt ready for chewie dieing, this came out in 1999 mind you, before episode 1 hit the theatres i beleive. There was some like serious serious haters because of the whole chewie death, but they all went away over time and the book proved its worth.

But growing up that was VERY MUCH a minority opinion. Much like enjoying The Last Jedi is now. And I expect that opinion will go the same way as enjoying the prequels, and enjoying the NJO.

There almost impossible to find, they were only really given to like libraries for blind people to use. I knew someone a while back with almost the entire njo series on audiobook, and they were all from some old library. The last book of the series is kinda cool, it comes with a pfp file of vector prime disc, if ur lucky, and itll let u you read it on a computer or a laptop, theres ways to have AI programs read it off, ive seen one that worked well. It doesnt only pronounce words it analyzes sentance structures, so it sounds almost real, its like those weird sounding youtube videos that sound like a ai voice is talking, only a little better. But no as far as i know the only place to find these are from people who have them saved. Theres a discord channel i beleive.

I think luke's son can top him on this front, but that's another story. As far this series goes, i agree. Ben skyguy was so often mor mature with 14 than jason with 16/17, yet somehow managed to repeat every main mistake, as soon as he has had managed to understand it to be a mistake. He seemed to have a biden level intelect. Imagine how much shit went south cuz he refused honestly talking to his dad. Mara jade, even died for this stupidity (fate of the jedi)...
