I just got one myself. I sold three of my favorite high-end knives to get this one. I'm so glad I did. This is the best knife I've ever owned. It is now my EDC fixed blade.
@danieldan7596 жыл бұрын
Do you think the blade is a little bit short for hard use?
@salottin7 жыл бұрын
You know shit's real when Tac gives it a 10! Now that looks like an AWESOME blade!
@k-dog70137 жыл бұрын
That knife has a beautiful profile to it. I really like it but the one thing that would make me buy is if it was convex ground, which I know dark Timber can do.

"On Tac, don't you be beakin' that.., I'll cry!" Hey, I'd cry just watching you do that. This is a superb video/review, especially with/in the SNOW..!!! I've been looking to add this to my collection [Lord What A Beautiful BLADE!], just have to pass it by my Business Accountant, my Lovely Wife! Yeah, I'm LUCKY LIKE THAT :-)

its sad that people might complain about a hand made knife and how much they are. even though I can't afford one right now. Its the price of a craftsman to expertly build it for you

Totally love mine as well. Just got it a few days or so ago and kinda nervous to make it a user. Thing is so pretty I don't wanna eff it up haha. How was the finish holding up after your testing?

Beautiful blade & performed amazing! One other thing I like in my "do all" knife is a extended tang for some occasional crushing or hammering. Would love to see that tang extended about a quarter inch in the same shape & angle of the handle with a bit of jimping on it. Other than that, I fully agree with your rating!
@cbr600rrturbo7 жыл бұрын
Evil Droid it does extend a little bit
@jimyocum95567 жыл бұрын
Evil Droid I agree there's always that one or 15 times you need to beat the handle of a user knife and it sucks beating up scales..
@Veesaki7 жыл бұрын
Great review and great review !!! You really summed it up a "battle-blade to use your words , truly. It reminds me a lot of the facon , the knife gaucho's in Argentina use, for just about anything and included fighting with it. I really like it !!

What do you think about this new knife from SOG: Pillar 2017? is it worth it?
@ajtaylor5607 жыл бұрын
Tac buddy, hit up gear best and get yourself a digital scale. This is about the 6th time you've needed one for a knife review. They are incredibly cheap but obviously a necessity in your line of video productions. Great review as always, when you are finished with a knife at least we know it's either one of two things. Good or bad!! Simple as that.

With the price and quality, I'd still choose survive! knives. They have better fit and finish, edge geometry and the finish on their blades are peened which mitigates rust unlike bead blasted finish. Pete's knives are great designs but it's just not up there in quality just of yet.

@johnmutton7997 жыл бұрын
very nice, but it will be mega money in UK, probably around $500 to us after dealer puts the price up. And if order from USA they want mega for shipping. IE: a san mai 3 trail master costs £462 which is $576. you can buy one in states for $250 to $299. it's a fucking rip off here! And your dealers are making good profit on that. our dealers come out with all kinds of shit. I will always try to buy from USA from now on, if shipping is not to high. Envy you man, all those nice tools . Enjoy all the reveiws, keep up the good work. cheers

You think we could get a real weight for this tool. I find it hard to believe it's under 14oz.
@damianblu7 жыл бұрын
The 11-12 oz weight is correct. I own one and the thing is scary light.
@shadowdance46667 жыл бұрын
Patrick M wanna sell it?
@damianblu7 жыл бұрын
Not a chance haha. Took me weeks to find somebody who wanted to sell theirs. It's absolutely worth the search though. Good luck.
@shadowdance46667 жыл бұрын
Patrick M I can't afford it anyway LOL. I was just fishing. I am intrigued though. I do like lite side arms and dislike heavy one even if well balanced. How is the balance to you? I actually called the vendor after writing the original post because I had to know LOL. They said 11.5oz that's really insanely lite for that size blade. Must have some unobtainium alloy in it LOL
@damianblu7 жыл бұрын
I feel that haha. I couldn't afford it either but one popped up and I snagged it on the backup lol. They come up in the facebook group Dark Timber Brotherhood somewhat often, but they go so fast. Like literally a couple minutes. The group keeps a stagnant market on them too, so they won't skyrocket in resale value like Ebay or other groups do. They can't be sold for more than $325 on the main group. The balance is absolutely perfect. Honestly everything about the knife is perfect. It's CPM 3V tool steel, super tough stuff. He gets the weight so low with a skeletonized handle, an aggressive blade grind, and a very deep fuller on both sides. Makes one heck of a difference. The only "complaint", if you can call it that, I have whatsoever would be that it's not as good at chopping as my Esee 5. But considering the thing is 2/3 the weight and a solid 2 inches longer OA, it makes sense that it wouldn't be. Got a lot less mass behind the swings.
