I still remember back in the day when Rock was heel and fans chanting "die rocky die". Like genuine hatred. Haven't watched wrestling in years but for some reason I stumbled upon WrestleMania 40 and realized how Rock is center stage. And also catching up with Vince gone and the chaos surrounding that seems like Rock will be extra heel extra power. With Cody being extra baby face. Maybe a stone cold vs vince 2.0? I have no clue!

I believe it was always the Plan to have the Rock to turn heel. Getting tons of fans to get behind the next Baby Face champ in a fake organic movement is a genius move. All of a sudden, you have the biggest hype train since Daniel Bryan. With the creation of TKO, They needed a great first Wrestle Mania, so the rematch with Cody needed something extra to gain maximum fan interest. Roman's time was obviously ending with fan interest being exhausted with the Bloodline shenanigans and a very part-time Roman. There was also very little animosity between Rock and Roman, probably so they could align more easily. The Rock is more entertaining as a heel, its what got him OVER in the first place.
@pmac2068 ай бұрын
I kind of think that too. To me everything is a work. As much as I want to see the Rock vs Roman . It sounds pretty strange to me that they were just going to do the match just like that with almost no build or story . They needed a catalyst to turn Rock heel which was Cody Rhodes. Now they have multiple big money matches they can do with the Rock , that’s no coincidence they know exactly what they’re doing but either way I’m glad it worked out this way.

I lost all respect for him after that. He is basically a 'snake' who sheds it's skin when necessary. This whole carrying WWE on his shoulders thing is a farce just to get himself over again when all his movies recently have been failures. I think ur jumping to conclusions. 1. The rock and hhh have to at least a good working relt to pull off wm 40. 2. The debt could be good debt. If wwe is in the black every year, then they are in profit. So there prob isnt too much pressure there.

Couldn't agree more. I've been a wrestling fan for 40 years and never recalled anyone of Rock's calibre and stature put over so many established or emerging stars in the early 2000s. What he did for Brock Lesnar when he was beginning is career epitomizes how much he understands that the more performers you have the top, the better the product is because the product never gets stale. He's never forgotten where he came from and his love of wrestling is exactly what the industry needed. With Vince out of the way, hopefully both he and HHH continue the phenomenal work they did with this year's Wrestlemania.

I really really hoped, that during all of the run-ins, during Cody vs Roman at WM 40, at some point, HHH's music should have hit, and come out as the ass-kicking HHH in jeans and a leather jacket. Then reach under the ring, pull out a sledgehammer, and toss it to Cody.

HHH looks forward to all that out of him and has said repeatedly how much he always loves the passion and dedication that Rock always has for anything he does and ESPECIALLY for the business, WWE and The WWE Universe. So whatever decisions the Rock can or can’t make doesn’t matter because those 2 will always be on the same page for as long as they continue to have that respect and love for each other and the business that they both love. 💯
