Even after hearing all this, that how much his father suffered and how afraid he was, Jonas still decides to lead Mikkel to that cave, most people think that Jonas became Adam after all the things 'The stranger' went through, but for me, when Jonas sealed Mikkel's fate and led him through that cave he was starting to become like Adam.

A bit late for a response I guess but I think you missed the point of this scene, Jonas was going to stop his father from killing himself and he was willing to do so even if it meant Jonas wouldn't exist anymore but it is only after hearing his father tell Jonas he wanted to commit suicide so that would it would allow Jonas to be born he changed his mind because it is what MIKKEL wanted not Jonas. The scene where Jonas goes back to lead Mikkel into the cave probably happens directly after this scene and Jonas only did so because it was his fathers decision not his own.

The actor did such an amazing job letting that childlike innocence and naive trust peek through. I rarely watch german shows as too many try to be like Tatort, but this one is very different. It's unmistakably german in style but it's highly emotional and thought-provoking in my opinion

Strange thing is: afterwards we never see this happening. We never see jonas going back to november 2019 and take Mikkel/Michael through the iron door. We only see it in this flashback but we never actually see Jonas do it.

So it may be all version of all characters were past and future life of each other. And that is why he became Adam from Jonas. There is also a hint given in episode 5 of season 2 that in staring scene Middle Jonas dreamed where he is with Teenage Martha on bed and then suddenly Martha belly Ejects black liquid and that was their son, the origin, he was shocked because Adult jonas never goes to Martha for intercourse on bed , but because in true sense he goes to Martha world and died and reincarnated in alternate version. And this song just was playing during Stranger Jonas was on work, indicating that he is done dying

If u look closely, the scene before this, when Adam sends Jonas to 2019 to prevent his dad from committing suicide through the god particle, u can actually see tears rolling down Adam's eyes because he knew that he's going to become the cause for it in the first place. Adam's portal breaks the 33 year cycle. For chronology purposes: the show starts out on 21 June 2019, then moves to 4-12 November, then 21-27 June. But Jonas breaks the cycle on 25 June and goes back to 21 June of the previous "year" (within the cycle) and then lives out the extra time from there until he meets adult Claudia in 1987. During that time, which he spent with the old Claudia before her own death, he went to the forest on 4 November and brought Mikkel to the cave. Hope that helps.

If Michael doesn't die, Jonas will not look for answers and would not find out about time travel. If Jonas is not time traveling then nobody will show Mikkel the way through the cave and through the passage to 1986. If Mikkel doesn't time travel there will be no Michael Kahnwald who is old enough to be Jonas' father, if there is no Michael Kahnwald who is old enough to be Jonas' father, then Jonas would never have been born. As in world 2, where Hannah is married to Ulrich. - Time travel is a bitch, man.

It's a world in which Mikkel didn't time travel and Jonas and grown up Michael don't exist. But - and here is the thing - the second world still exists and loops without Jonas. Because it is connected with the first world. First world Jonas and second world Martha have the Unknown, which starts everything in both worlds. In the first world 2019 Mikkel would be Michael's age in 2053. But he would die before that because of the apocalypse 27 June 2020. This film pedals the idea of determinism. A philosophical concept where free choice is just an illusion. "A man can do what he will but not will what he will". This is a quote by the philosopher Schopenhauer used in the film. Meaning we have no free will because everything is predetermined by our wants. And that, time travel aside, is the driving force in Dark. Love and wanting to save somebody. It is repeatedly mentioned that this is what keeps the cycle going. Because nobody can let go. So, Michael Kahnwald kills himself because he wants to save Jonas. And Jonas wants to save everyone. (Besides, apparently Jonas cannot kill himself because his older self already exists. He tried) Everyone wants to save someone. And this is why it is such a powerful story.

Because it has always happened like that. Michael dies because Jonas from the future tells him he came looking here because he saw him die... then Jonas learns that it was him who brought his young dad(Mikkel) to the cave, so now he will go ahead and do the same with the Mikkel here... cause no Mikkel in 1986 then no Jonas in the first place. And the future versions of Jonas already exist and they want to remain alive that's why Adam(eldest Jonas) sends him back to the past to cause his father's suicide. Everything is predetermined. A paradox.

The Jonas we see in this scene is from the start of the series(lets call him Jonas 1) and he has already time travelled, while the one that hasn't travelled yet is his past self(Jonas 2), Jonas 1 will be the one to take Mikkel to the caves as it is shown in the flashback
