As everyone seemingly plays Zelda nowadays this a real nice surprise, Etrian is a very niche but addicting series. Some general tips/recommendations: 1. Specialice your characters, no Ice/Fire Mage, but an Inferno mage instead. You only get one point per lvl up and that is not much. 2. Drawing the map is far more comfortable in touch mode, best with a stylus, so I would recommend doing this after the episodes in portable mode, you can show us off your drawn map at the start of the next episode for example. 3. As you noticed already the Exp is shared among all party members, so if you are ever in a spot when you want to quickly level up a new character the best way to do it is to form a 2 member party and get grinding (for example you reach a floor where your inferno mage is useless and you want to use a blizzard mage instead) . 4. Finding weapons in Etrian is super rare and usually tied to a quest. The best way to get weapons is the shop/blacksmith.

Would you say "Specialize, but leave open a bit of utility"? (I.e. an Inferno Mage that learns 1 level of Ice/Thunder?) Or straight up "DO NOT DIVERSIFY! EVER!"?

@@s4ad0wpi It has been a while, but for what I remember usually the monsters on a particular floor /stratum do share their elemental weakness (if they have any) in this entry so there is no real point to diversify element-wise. What you probably should do is invest in some secondary stuff like TP up / HP up and their respective abilities. I also remember always putting some points in the harvesting abilities, so I could get some stuff when I ran into a gathering point, but you could argue that you could build a "gathering party" instead. All in all the game is pretty open in how you play it and you can experiment with what works for you as you have no real limit in how many people you have in your guild.

@@s4ad0wpi Eh. Even without optimizing you can comfortably go into two elements without compromising damage output by late game. Especially because you don't really need to max out the tier 1 spells since the tier 2s with 1 point are better than the tier 1s at max. It costs more TP but it's not a big deal late game.

If you don't want to deal with drawing the map every 5 seconds, you can go into the options menu and turn Auto map full. This is my second favorite video game franchise, the first is Brood war or Starcraft. 2009 Etrian Odyssey 3 is how I got introduced to the series, the Ninja is my favorite class If you ever play the third game, I'd be honored if you named him Guyver. your video was fun a little cringe, while you were reallocating your point and you didn't buy armor or weapons, but you were still learning so I'm not going to blame you . still fun like and subscribe.

Per fortuna hanno inserito più slot di salvataggio, nel gioco originale su ds ne avevi uno solo. A mio parere resta uno dei giochi più sottovalutati della atlus, non ha una grande trama ma è molto toccante. Come in un soulslike molto va interpretato e molti particolari lasciano spazio all’immaginazione, come i guardiani/boss di ogni strato, i draghi elementali ecc. nella mia partita classica scelgo sempre: Il guerriero,il paladino, l’arciere, l’alchimista.e il medico. Seguo un’impostazione simile anche negli altri giochi, a meno di non sfruttare la principessa al posto del medico, o il mago da guerra al posto dell’alchimista.

Started EO with IV, loved it, although I never finished it. Picked up the HD trilogy, and am playng 3. Loving it so far! (Forgot how hard this game can be tho!)

Ok now with regards to the blue face, arms and feet they are usually to signify which body part uses that active skill. So the cure skill on the medic uses the head and if that body part is bound you'll be unable to use said skill. Now remember to use skills you need equipment that cooresponds with it. So to use shield skills you'll need a shield. If the mapping is too cumbersome go to the option menu and select auto mapping. In the menu you can adjust the speed of your fights as well.

Happy to see you play, I'll sub to see more. Just as a note, I learned recently you get more bang for your skill buck if you choose a weapon mastery level up versus Atk up. You're supposed to choose a weapon type to focus on for your build, and use the skill associated with that weapon. So a Landsknecht you can choose to be either a Sword or Axe user, but I wouldn't mix. Also for medic, Immunize is a good skill, and the Cadescus skill makes them a decent physical attacker

@@DarkstaliaDives one of the best landsknecht skills is the one that grants double hits, and you will need to dip to at least 5 in both sword and axe skills to do it. But besides that, most people either go one all the way, or max both. Both is harder, but axes are better for bosses, and swords for standard fights. The choice isn't easy but as a starter, probably one maxed is best.

I bought the full collection for my Steam Deck and it runs great on it. I watch you vids, after I have played the stages for myself. I love these games so much, just a pity the Collection is even with a discount still expensive. But I couldn't wait many years for better prices. Keep up the great work!

@@DarkstaliaDives the 3DS has two Persona spin off games called "Persona Q" which features the SEES and Investigation Team cast, in this format of dungeon crawlers. You just chose which team you start the game with by either selecting the P3 protagonist or the P4 protag. And "Persona Q2" is the sequel where you start out as the Phantom Thieves and SEES and the Investigation Team join you later on. I figured , since you already know how to run a 3DS game like "SMT IV"....finding those two games which are just Persona skins on Etrain Oddesssy games would be easy.

The DS difficulty is on the hardest option. You can select it at start, and I think you can swap to it in Town. But don't quote me on that. Every rerelease/remake, like EO:untold, all did that. Give easier options so you are totally fucked.
