Depending on the angle you mount the LEDs you can see any where from 2' to 10' of road in front. But you can see the LEDs themselves from all the way down the street.

Yeah, you can use a Reamer but honestly I think a drill is faster and more accurate then one. But it's up to you which one you want to use.
@darkeclipticheart
@darkeclipticheart 12 жыл бұрын
You could use a resistor to bring down the voltage so it won't burn out the LEDs. They have resistor calculaters so you can find what kind of resistor to use. You can find one online fairly easily. However I honestly don't know to much about that stuff so that's all I can tell you.

You don't want to put different colored leds on the same battery pack. The leds have to be the same kind to hook it up to one power source. As for the limit, well, I've never hooked up more then 10 but that doesn't mean that you can't hook up more.
@darkeclipticheart
@darkeclipticheart 12 жыл бұрын
Yes you can hook up a traxxas connecter and use a lipo. Just make sure you don't have to much Voltage going to the lights or it will burn it out.
@oldnotwise71
@oldnotwise71 4 жыл бұрын
I've done that before and all that I had to do to prevent burn out was add the appropriate resistance to the circuit. Still working 8 years later.

The lights are just basic 5mm led lights. Many companies make them. The battery pack is just a generic 2 AA battery holder and the switch is a slide switch but you can use a toggle switch too.

Have you tried using a servo board as a controller? Can plug into 3ch receiver to get power and use 3rd channel to turn lights on and off. Very simple.

I have 10 leds hooked up to 3 volts. I suppose you could hook up a couple more then that. I'm not sure if you run it from the reciever.

The red lights work on a different level then the ones you have in the front. You can only group together LEDs that have the same stats.
@darkeclipticheart
@darkeclipticheart 12 жыл бұрын
For this set up no I didn't need resistors. If you're going to use the the reciever box for power its 6v. Becareful not to have to much volts going to the LEDs if they can only handle so much.
@Butters_Stunts

if you use a lighter on the insulation, the wire is easier to strip.

Each AA battery is actually only 1.5v. So two equals 3v's.
@darkeclipticheart
@darkeclipticheart 12 жыл бұрын
Sorry but I wouldn't know. I know batteries can get hot rather quickly if the positive and negative wires are touching at some point. But if your wiring is secure and solid then I would guess the batterie holder was faulty.
