This is such a great exploration. I know I've said it before, but I just can't believe how fast a place goes into decay. You said that this place was vacant in 2013 so it really isn't that old, but the level is decay is unbelievable. Your videos are always awesome and I really appreciate that you do the history on these places. Whoever owns this, I really hope they will keep the old machinery. It's so cool. Thanks so much once again for the awesome tour :o) Stay safe guys

I watch you guys almost exclusively. I LOVE exploration, especially in older dark places. But I find that almost anytime I try to branch out to other channels, I find a lot of click bait, set up scenes, or just straight up lies. I never feel that way when watching your explorations and I love it. You guys accept when a place doesn’t have as crazy of a backstory and explore anyways. And when a place does have a wild background, you guys give the story and show it on screen immaculately. I appreciate both sides, the quaint left behind home from another era and the harsh places abandoned to rot. Great job once again, love your videos!

The soft pastel colors were soothing and supposedly had a calming effect on the prisoners. I have heard before about prison cells being paint in soft pinks and blues.
@jenniekennedy91783 жыл бұрын
Pinks have been know to cause anger & rage in prisoners. It is actually a really interesting new(ish) study.
@jenniekennedy91783 жыл бұрын
@no longer human it causes rage with female prisoners too. It's just like how mint green is supposed to be calming, but you don't want to paint your entire house mint green because then it isn't calming anymore. It would be chaotic

I think it's a good idea. Sometimes people have to remember that. Jail and prison are two different things. You can't wind up in there for the smallest of reasons. And you wouldn't want something driving completely bonkers. For the time you're in new. I've made it 64 years without going. I'd like to make it through the rest of my life withoutgoing
@DJBSharpMusic2 жыл бұрын
@@jenniekennedy9178 I think that, because I've heard a lot about prison culture, many of the male inmates have this hypermasculine culture on the inside that only they truly understand, they tend to be set off by anything that they feel impedes their masculinity, including the color pink. I may be wrong, but it sounds right.

I haven't been in a State Pen, but I was in our local jail/prison, and I had been in solitary twice (the Hole). That shower was almost dead-on to the shower I had to use while in the Hole. I love the colors of some of these rooms...so pretty almost! Our prison was just white walls...very boring. I was there for a whole year while going through the court process. I got time served and was released one year to the day of my arrest. Prison/jail is NOT fun people...so THINK before you allow yourself to do something stupid. The more you know. :) Great vid!

Jail and prison are not synonymous. You didn’t go to your local jail/prison - you went to your local jail. Big difference from prison. Jail is for less than a year, prison is for anything more than a year. By law you can only be held for a year without trial unless you pose some risk to yourself or the community in which case you’ll likely end up in a medical unit.

Hello yall. The outlines on the wall in the kitchen were of stir paddles for stirring food that was being cooked in big kettles, and the others were not pizza cutters, they were different-sized scopes, all food was weighed out and proportioned to the exact per person. Yes, I worked in a few prison kitchens.

A very interesting phenomenon of property reuse. There is so much talk about ecology, and here we have a pretty good example of how buildings can be reused. I absolutely don't mind, as long as the characteristic elements are preserved. An interesting, unpopular situation. It's nice to hear that a beautiful building will not fall into total ruin.

The worst thing is when you go into a big pod like that no one sleeps. If one cell is sleeping there's another twenty wide awake and no one has a filter or knows how to whisper. It's a consistent yell from every inmate. Ok, it may be not the worst thing😂

A prison that doesnt look like it was merely a for profit inmate storage facility - refreshing! Granted, it was medium security, but still. I believe in the effort of resocialization over mere punishment and storage of criminals and a facility that doesnt keep inmates locked up like animals increases the chance of success. 19:53 - "Attention inmate! Say your prayer and repent your sins! Thank you for your cooperation." 🤭

With that being said- I should have done more research before writing this, but be careful in those buildings that have paint peeling off of the walls. In the childcare place I used to work at, theyd have state people come in and check for lead (I think it is) bc they used to put it in paint and after time it’s harmful to breathe it in. Just sayin! Again, love y’all. Stay safe.

So the current owners basically made it into a tourist attraction, interesting (10 bucks per hour, or work on a "volunteer day" for few hours in exchange for probably the same hour you've worked for free?). Pretty ingenious since the buildings are just already standing there, and you can charge money to the curious explorers without doing anything extra and keeps away vandals since it's a fully active property.
