Hey brother, I’ve been following your work outs for a while now, I think about four months. First off they have been excellent! Secondly, they have helped me both physically and mentally. I am an Iraqi war veteran, retired from the military now. I don’t like to take too much time telling people about it, especially on any type of social media platform. However, I just listened to this work out today, and like everyone else, I have been struggling in certain areas of my life due to stress, maybe post traumatic, I don’t know, kids, the world right now, Covid and everything else it’s been adding up a bit lately. I don’t want to ramble, but I do want to say to you, and for everyone to hear, that I appreciate your guidance, your thoughts on the north star, being able to control your life, not worrying about things you can’t control, and your positive outlook. The dark horse mentality you speak of has helped me. I feel great today, and I think about why you say often. Thank you Shane!

You are the BEST! Started rowing three months ago because my A1c was creeping up over 6.1 while on metformin. Well I went off the medication and three months later my A1c is 5.7 because of rowing with your awesome coaching. I’m 79, 5-3” and weigh 110 and I just crushed this routine. Your manner of coaching is very motivating and encouraging. You are helping people more than you may realize. Love being a Dark Horse!

Glad to know this! For a year or so I was having reactive hypoglycemia which is now seeming to shift into high glucose. Family history of diabetes in each generation including mine so I want to make sure I take charge.
@lacutienespana24428 ай бұрын
It can’t hurt for sure. I’m rowing 5 days a week. A1c is holding steady with no medication. Intermediate programs. 35-45 minute of work. Completing a program and continuing to row until I reach 6500-7000 at each workout. Benefits go beyond A1c control. Go for it👍

Hey Shane, Just a note of thanks. Long, long ago, I used the Concept 2 every once in while at the gym and never really concentrated on form, thought my form was ok, lol. Quit the gym a few years ago, did some research to determine the rower to buy and have not regretted purchasing the Concept2 Model D. I then searched youtube to learn to row better and watched some decent videos and some horrible videos then found Dark Horse. I started my home gym journey in Mar 2018 and rewatched numerous of your videos to fix some issues and row better. Well 2.5M meters down and and enjoying rowing more and more and using ergdata and the monthly challenges to track progress and figuring out when I can try to get a new personal best. Thanks for all your videos, passion and keep it coming. You are a breath of fresh air!

Working out with you makes me feel like I'm on a crewing team...this makes me stay aware of my technique and remaining focused and purposeful. And yes i agree with you that the minutes that we are at a lower pace feel longer and the faster pace go quicker LOL that's not actually possible !!! When my technique is off and i feel I am using my arms too soon ...I noticed that my water rower has a pause/release feeling on the strap, after i push away with my legs, where the strap feels like it has NO tension, and THAT's when the timing is to pull my arms into my chest ...SO COOL to find that, to keep my technique on point !!
